Dapper Dino I was wondering if you could feature my organism because I don't have discord. If you do want to feature it it's called Denspin and its scientific name is Dentis Spino or barbed tooth.The Denspin is a descendent of the Filter Globe and its pink hairs for grabbing prey has fused together by cartilage,and sense they are active predators now they have become more arrow dynamic and have web like structures that connect their tentacles so they can have better moment though the water.Even if they are active predators,they aren't that fast so they have formed a symbiotic relationship with a bioluminescent bacteria to have at the end of each tentacles to attract prey.In exchange,the bacteria feed off of whatever nutrients the Denspin consumes.The Denspin has made one set of tentacles into eyes for seeing and are made up of three small compound eyes on each one.The last things I want to say is that sense the Despin can actively move they no longer need to cast spond anymore,and they keep there dark pigmentation from when they're young.They keep the same size as the Filter Globes and still have the same number of individuals in a group that I'm calling a hord in order to hunt prey instead of its prior use.

Some thoughts: I see the start of plants forming on this planet, on earth there were a great many animals making the same adaptations at the same time most of whom didn't survive while on the planet I'm from these actually coexisted for a long time and prompted some of the flora to hold onto their locomotive abilities while some animals adapted adapted to not spend any part of their life motile. Maybe something similar happens on this planet too? While the land isn't conquered until much later on earth doesn't mean it has to be that way here. With so many photosynthesizing species, this planet probalby developed an early ozone layer alowing animals to beat plants onto the land this would have an insane effect on the ecosystem going forward. Animals would dominate the land and plants would struggle to get a foothold there. Plants instead would conquer the sea resulting in open ocean mangroves taller than mountains or something. When the sea inevitably recedes as icecaps form, Some species of shorter plants living on coastlines and preventing the formation of coral reefs (or possible coexisting with coral?) would finally be able to move onto land being already too numerous for animals to stop them. Life on this planet appears to be trending towards bilateraly symetrical animals conquering the world just like on earth but you don't know for a fact that this is the only way. I'm not one to talk as my species starts out radially symetrical but becomes bylateral after learning to walk, only some rare individuals make it to adulthood still radial. But I've always wondered what a radial symetry dominated planet could be like and no one wants to take the risk and show me. ok those are all my thoughts.

Here are my submissions for stage 2: Xenoturtur a relative of the Bobird, has taken life to the tidal pools and lagoons of both Natash and Ras al-Kalb respectively, and feed on the Joneno that dominates the rocky shores of the lagoons. The Xenoturtur have adapted their feet into flat pads acting like suction cups that keep them steady in the swirling water. Some subspecies use these pads as spoons to dig or swim. The name Xenoturtur, means 'alien turtle' after their habit to glue sand and scavenged indigestible carapaces as a means of protection using the gluey saliva they developed to help them digest tougher matter. Plumepucks are a descendant of Featherbarrels that have taken to the tropical and temperate coasts near and on the equator. They have taken on flatter, puck shape, hence their name. They also have feathered out their feeding tentacles into fluffy arms for more efficient filter feeding. If the need arises, they will detach themselves from the sediment and jet away sideways using their outwards pumping valves to escape predators. Once they are safe, they will re-anchor themselves to the sediment below.

Hey Dapper. I was looking for a playlist of your speculative projecr but for some reason it is not listed... If it exists. In order to explain the mechanisms of evolution to my family, I recently did a participative project... Our planet is hotter than earth, with a more important tilt, a slightly higher gravity, much more water, two moons and orbits a star that is way more red than ours. There is no photosynthesis yet due to a way higher albedo from the persistant clouds and fogs, life emerged in the local equivalent of our hadeen that was way cooler than ours due to a higher percentage of water. There is thermosynthesis and chemosynthesis so far. we reached the first multicellular organisms, some floating filters, and the first extinction happened and cut most of the branches of the unicellulars relying on thermosynthesis, the surviving forms will probably end up as living fossiles as they are stuck around underwater volcanos, a stable environment surrounded by kind of a killzone. The rest... will give hexapods because I want my family to understand why the navis from avatar are a problem, considering the bodyplan of the rest of the fauna
@DapperDinosaur Жыл бұрын
There should a Playlist on my channel page. You project sounds cool.
@celiand2618 Жыл бұрын
I might have missed it, my bad. Well, at the very least, it has already helped explaining ponctuated equilibriums, how selection is a filter for the mutations that will propagates better, how mutations stack up easily in small populations when they might get lost in bigger genetic pools and how hybridation does not create new species but rather might tend tend to swallow je two branches of the "tree" that were on the path of speciation. And I must thank Forrest Valkai, Gutsick Gibbon, Aron Ra, Julien Benoît and you. If I had not binge watched all of you, I would have had to take a big dive in my books and they are a bit old by now. The mechanisms of ponctuated equilibriums are not in them for said books I still have are french 9th and 10th graders books from late 80s early 90s.

Overall, I find your project less comprehensive than that of Biblaridion. Whereas the progression of his creatures is laid out and defined with prerequisite explanations and thorough description, yours seems to throw an assortment of seemingly unrelated hypothetical creatures at us. Without tracing your hypothetical creatures to a common ancestor and without context for the practicality of such mutations and adaptations: I'm left feeling lost, and as if obligated to memorize and integrate knowledge about seemingly random creatures. There are too many fictional creatures, in general, to try to make sense of. It's not enough for your creatures to simply be plausible, or theoretically possible; it's the meat of the thesis that makes it compelling.
