If anybody is wondering, a stock 1987 Turbo Regal will mechanically do 147 and then the stock D5 torque converter unlocks. I have one of the black WO2's that the "Turbo T" name came from because of the service bulletin cancelling them after the first 90 days. Stock speedometer only goes to 85, but I have a Scanmaster 2.1. I always heard the GNX's were governed to 120 because of the rear suspension, but never met anybody that tested one. I've owned a Spirit R/T, a couple SHO's, a Teksid Cobra, multiple 3rd gens (3 IROC's sitting within 10 ft. of me now), a couple of 4th gens and a couple of other oddballs. I think one of my favorites were the 3rd gen Formulas. If I find the right medium metallic blue '90 hardtop? That's where this L33 and T56 are going on Ronal Firehawk wheels with an S60. Good video, thanks for reminding me that I never shoulda sold my toys.

the fox 5.0 had the real goodies like true dual exhaust (tubed headers, dual cats, mufflers and chrome exhaust tips on the lx) you could hear them coming but the GN and GNX were king!

The IROC-Z had 245 to 275 hp I had both one with the 245 and 275

Umm the svo and gt (5.0h.o.) fox mustangs gave similar performance (better milage in the svo) the GNX was de-tuned because it put up better numbers then the Corvette. Turbo 3 Dodge cars were fun but wrong wheel drive, and a trans am would of had a v8bits a trans am (think z28/ IROC Camaro) the firebird would of had the v6. the IROC downside is if you want a tpi 350 you get a auto if you want a t speed you get the same h.o. 305. The zr-1 had a rare 3nd gen small block (the "LS" is the 4th gen sbc)

Obviously this list is not the fastest as number one! Elsewise the Buick Grand National GNX would be number one !!! Oh yeah! I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE AI IN THESE !!!! I apologize, number two behind the Corvette ZR1 !!!
