I like the GTX bootie. Mountains in the UK & Ireland are so boggy that I wouldn't buy a hiking boot without a waterproof membrane. Innov8 are based in the UK so these boots are designed for wet conditions. V2 of this boot improves durability, protection and stability with very little weight impact. It's kinda awesome & I've a tonne of mountain boots

Great review. I've seen a lot of reviews tonight and this was actually the best one.

A good review 👍 I voiced my opinion on KZbin when they released them over here in the UK. I'm with you on the goretex bootee. Defeats the object of a multi day fastpacking boot. Especially in the UK. I'm glad you mentioned the weight. My Inov8 mudclaw G260 are 364g in a UK 11.5! The naming by weight can be misleading. The schoeller fabric should hopefully give them more durability than the G370 fastpacking boot they released. Their 'ballistic nylon' upper lacks durability. Mine had excessive crease point wear after less than 20 miles and split from the sole with less than 30miles fastpacking. Keep the honest reviews coming and I hope you get your monies worth out of them. Looking forward to your review after days of wet trails. Cheers

Thanks for watching and for the comments! I do think they should make this in a non-GTX option so consumers can choose, that would be great. I love what Inov-8 is doing, this and the Terraultra G270 are awesome shoes. The schoeller upper is really durable too!

@@RunRepeatcom schoeller is my favourite material manufacturer. I have the Scott shoes with the schoeller. I had the inov8 terraultra G260 on release... It's a shame they didn't do more testing before they realised they needed to alter the design of the tread and release the G270. It made me switch brands to dynafit after being disappointed with the sole on the g260 and was reluctant to pay out for the G270 so soon after buying the 260's

I'm looking a mid hiking running boots that also work for snow. Between Salomon Outpulse, Adidas Swift R3 and Adidas Ax4, which ones do you recommend?

Perfect zombi smashers haha!

I bought these just as the V2 came out and paid £100. The've been through some serious abuse over the last 4 months with no problems so-far.

With thicker winter socks would you suggest a half size or full size up?
@RunRepeatcom3 жыл бұрын
The toe box would accomodate well, but you may need some length. These fit more like running shoes than boots, and in the winter you may need havy socks since they are not insulated at all. Ultimately though I would wear normal socks since these are designed to go fast, think speed hiking, and your feed stay pretty warm without the need for heavy wool.

One more fantastic detail is the upper material has a ceramic coating and it is beyond a marketing gimmick. These are seriously tough boots! And I know it is classified as a lightweight fast packer but considering what people wear on tough trails with heavy loads I feel like I can hike Nepal wearing these beasts and I can see myself carrying close to 30 pounds or so

Quite ugly. Not sure about the shoe either. Seriously though, nice review! I prefer boots for anything with any kind of rocks. I need that higher ankle support :)
