I own the Speed Queen front load washer, but I own the previous model without the "pet" cycle which I do not need. It was a very expensive purchase, and I did get the pedestal with it otherwise it sits way too low. I have been using it for about two years now, and I can say it is worth every penny. I can confirm that it does NOT have a built-in heater, but it's not a problem for me because I have a tankless water heater which is a short distance away and so hot water is not a problem. Even if you have a tank water heater, you should be fine. One thing I appreciate about this front load, over my previous LG is the cycle times are much shorter. When my LG washing machine started a load, it would do this long drawn out procedure where it senses the load, sprays a little water inside, senses again, and it went back and forth like this for a ridiculous amount of time before the wash cycle actually began. It would also rapidly pulse the hot water valve open and closed dozens and dozens of time when it filled due to it's "automatic temperature regulator", and it would cause my tankless water heater to short cycle. This speed queen washer eliminated both of those issues because whatever sensing it does at the beginning, it does it FAST, and the washer fills much more quickly with water because it does not pulse the water on and off, it just FILLS like it's supposed to, and the wash cycle begins promptly. I also work in an industry where I get grease, oil, coolant, and other chemical on my work clothes and this washer handles it like a champ. It is built like a tank. Yes the washer drum is smaller than other machines, but the quick cycles times make up for it, and I never have issues washing my queen size comforter, and it could also handle a King if it had to (washed on it's own, not together with other things). I did not buy the speed queen dryer because there is nothing special about it, and it would have been money down the drain. This washer has been worth every penny, and I am confident that it will save money in the end because it will OUTLAST the dollar amount spent over time of having to purchase a new front loader every time it breaks, not to mention the money you will spend on repairs if they are even worth fixing. If I had not purchased this model, I would have also been just as happy with a top load speed queen, specifically the TC5 model with the good old fashioned agitator. I realize the other speed queen top loaders also have agitators, but I think the TC5 model is a little more aggressive which I find a bonus with the type of laundry I do. If you don't need aggressive agitation, then the other top load speed queen washer is the better one to get. They are all excellent washers though!!!

I have the same washer as you and I agree. Much better than any of the cheap throw away ones you buy at the big box stores. These are made to service laundromats day and day out for years. I wash my kind sized comforter in mine all the time and I will say it comes out cleaner than my old lg which had a bigger drum and ran forever. Plus with the short run times I pump out as much clean laundry as my brother does with his 3 lg front loads he has rigged up.

Love your videos Blake! You always are honest and wish we could have you as representative here in VA! Your humor and good naturedness are always appreciated and I watch your videos right away with anticipation. We have Maytags now that will be replaced with Speed Queens at next time panel goes out as 5 year warranty will expire soon. You have really helped us make that decision and we thank you for that. We have to use top load as our laundry room is basically a hallway somewhat like you described yours. Thanks as always!!!

You said a mouthful in the first minute and a half. Take care of your machines. I just retired a set of LGs after 17 years. Still working. Bought a new LG that washes and dries, and I wasn't expecting much more. But there is more. It has all DC motors and pumps to be super quiet. It has jets around the window, and really saturates quickly. The drum has different tumbling patterns to break up the motion and be sure all clothes get moved around. Of course, wifi capabilities. Not sure I will get 17 years out of it. But for the cost, 12-15 would be a win. For the price of those speed queens, and as simple and featureless as they are, they should absolutely just guarantee them for the 25 years.

My first speed queen front loader arrived with defective computer panel and door seal. Warranty work done and both parts replaced. Worked well for 6 years and then DIED. It stopped draining ( removable filter screen was meticulously clean and pristine looking), the pump would not work, and the control panel would not respond to touch. So, my VERY expensive speed QUEEN lasted 6 years, NOT 25. I Just got my second speed queen front loader. Arrived with defective laundry soap drawer…..it emits copious bubbles, which run down the front of the machine and it leaks water from below the laundry soap drawer. Techs here 4 times, and now say my water pressure is too high. THEY ARE WRONG. I have lived here for 30 years and NEVER HAS ANY PLUMBING been DONE. NO CHANGE IN MY WATER PRESSURE. My previous 4 washers, including the first speed queen HAD NO EXCESS WATER PRESSURE ISSUE. Then, last week, my new machine, ( only 9 weeks old) would not drain all the water out. The clothes had spun out but were more damp than they should be. So, after putting the washed clothes in the dryer to dry, I examined the washer further. There was standing water in the machine clearly visible at the level of the rubber seal. There was no blockage of the tiny drain holes, just lots of water. Finally, after putting it thru two additional spin cycles it drained properly. It has worked flawlessly now for the last 4 days. The store fro whom I purchased BOTH SPEED QUEENS now insists that my machine needs smaller diameter water fill hoses to fix the DEFECTIVE LAUNDRY SOAP DRAWER ISSUE. TWO POINTS I WANT TO MAKE……I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SOEED QUEEN. AND I WLL NEVER BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS AGAIN. I NEED TO DO LAUNDRY EVERY DAY….2-3 loads. If my machine is nit working I have to spend $20 at the laundromat daily, until it can be fixed. The store that sold me BOTH SPEED QUEEN WASHERS REFUSES TO EXCHANGE THIS SECOND DEFECTIVE MCHINE FOR A DIFFERENT ONE. THEY STATED THAT SOEED QUEENS ARE DESIGNED TO BE REPAIRED AND THAT I WILL SIMPLY HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE REPAIR ISSUE…..PERIOD. NEVER AGAIN….NO MORE SPEED QUEENS….NOT EVER. AND NEVER AGAIN FROM THIS STORE

So uses less water = but holds a smaller load = so must run more loads to equal top load = still uses more wateR Only reason I would want one is for our septic tank to use less water = but does it really take less water, if you have to do more loads?
@discerningmind3 күн бұрын
Answering your question. Yes, the front load washer uses less water than the top load if you have to do more loads. As well, bear in mind that you'll only be using about 1/3 of any laundry products that you'll use, such as detergent etcetera. You didn't say what size top load washer you were comparing to the front load washer. Since I last shopped for them, most top load washers were in the range of 3.2 - 3.7. The Speed Queen front load washer is 3.5. so, consider it the same range of sizes. Basically, .2, .5, .7, don't matter as much as you might think. As I recall, .1 is about the size of a hand towel. Though it adds up if there's a machine that's 3.0 and a machine that's 3.7. My last front load washer was 3.2 and my current machine a Whirlpool front loader is 5.4 so that's a substantial difference. One way to get a good idea for the size of a front load washer is to have a look at the matching clothes dryer. But make sure you're looking at the true matching dryer. Bear in mind that front loaders don't have an agitator getting in the way and blocking the clothes from moving around. The only way laundry won't move around in a front load washer is if it is packed solid, as though someone used their foot to get the door shut. Or by forcing a heavy weight king size comforter into a small front loader. The owner's manual for front load clothes washers never state to weigh laundry for the correct amount to put in the machine. They usually state to put the laundry into the machine and leave a little room at the top of the clothes. Or to add as much laundry as you like but not so much that you have to force the door to get it shut. Best wishes for shopping. May God Bless You.

Okay, time for a reality check with SQ front loader machines. There is no internal heater. Zero. None. So all the talk of 'Sanitize with Oxi' and 'Pet Care' are PR stunts at best. Second, there are lots of complaints about the circuit boards going out, and they are expensive to replace. Third, yes maybe the machine can last 25 years...maybe....but that is like saying you want your Ford Pinto to last 25 years. It is an average machine for cleaning-I use the commercial SQ front loaders in my building sometimes-but no match from my Gorenje washer.
@sophiesnuffy25632 ай бұрын
I agree totally. Crappy circuit boards do NOT LAST. My first machine circuit board died at 6 years. My new machine, of 2 months, seems to be having a circuit board glitch that caused it to not drain. Had to put the machine thru two spin cycles to get it to drain. NOT WORTH THE MONEY IF THE CIRCUIT BOARDS ARE CRAP.

You really shouldn’t be replacing a machine every couple years if you take care of it well. I’d rather have a bigger, feature ready front loader from LG that cleans very well for 10-15 years than be stuck with these speed queens for 30 years.

I would never buy a new speedqueen. The build quality doesn't even come close to justifying the price, especially when you may also be losing performance and features compared to other big brands. If you can find used speedqueen machines for sale, those are often great buys! My favorite shop-washer ever was an AWN412 that I salvaged. I do love their frontloads too though.
