Bought a speed queen this week-tr5, found out not working 2 hours after installation, tech came & found pressure sensor & harness need to be replaced. This is a brand new machine, I’m baffled. Is this a quality control issue?

From a 10+ working house wife, I know how much to pour straight from the jug, dont want to waste money? Stop using dryer sheets or unhook your hot water spout. Cold water wash is just fine. What ticked me off is watered down detergent AND they not filling bottles all the way so I dont care, I will pour whats supposed to be in the jug before buying! Then the government decided to give us "energy efficient" washer & dryers that only slosh the clothes around, you might as well just use a stick and bathtub 😒😒😒😒

I won't buy any Samsung appliances! They have class action lawsuits on all their kitchen and laundry appliances. 8 years ago I bought top of the line Samsung washer, dryer, fridge, and oven to be used by a family of 2, not 20. The washer lasted 4 years with 3 repairs, the 4th repair call was a fatal condition, so I trashed it and got a Speed Queen. The dryer lasted 6 years repaired once, the second repair call was fatal, so I trashed it and got an Electrolux because it was half the cost of the Speed Queen. The oven lasted 7 years, the first time it failed the service guy claimed there were no parts for it to be fixed, trashed it, and got a Bosch to match my Bosch dishwasher and stovetops, though brand matching to me isn't important, my research said Bosch made the best ovens. The fridge never failed yet, however, it did freeze up about every 2 to 3 months forcing me to manually defrost it; just 2 weeks ago a Samsung repair tech showed up due to the class action lawsuit and replaced the water and ice maker, and replaced a circuit board in the back, he did say that he could not say for sure if the repair will even work, he also said that Samsung is a junky appliance maker, and he also recommended the Frigidaire fridge, and he loved my Bosch appliances, and thought a Bosch fridge would probably be better than the Frigidaire one, it would depend on how much money someone wanted to spend.

I bought a GE in February. It's the only one that would fit in my limited space. I really like it. So far it cools well and runs quiet. The guy that installed it said that all the major brands have a fair share of problems. I'm hoping to get at least 8 years out of it!

I've used softeners for 30+ years with none of the issues you mention. Maybe because I use small amounts... less than they "suggest" and I use a separate dispenser rather than the built-in dispenser. I also shake the bottle each time. Lastly, I deep clean my washer once a year. Current washer and dryer are over 20 years old and still kicking.

My elderly friends don’t yell to everyone that they have a pacemaker or not have a pacemaker to everyone and are generally private about medical matters, could I accidentally kill one of my friends just by cooking them lunch? If I get a pacemaker myself, will I have to rip out my whole stove?
@BoulevardHome
@BoulevardHome 2 күн бұрын
I would say you're not going to kill anyone nor yourself. And really the concerns about pacemakers seem more speculative than proven as of right now, but it's just something we decided would be good to keep in mind due to the electromagnetism of the induction. If there were any issues, chances are it would just be a little interference, and nothing deadly. And if that did happen, I'd imagine it would be very easy to remedy. Thanks for watching!

Refrigerators are junk now compared to the past because the compressors are small for efficiency and are made in China. I had a 30 year old upright freezer with a large American made compressor and it's running like the day I bought it. If you want to make your modern refrigerator to last long, open and close the door quickly....don't leave the door open.

So if i shake the fabric doftener Everytime before use and run warm water in the rinse cycle for the washer periodically it should take care of the issues?
@BoulevardHome
@BoulevardHome 3 күн бұрын
Shaking up the fabric softener would be a good idea, but simply a warm water rinse probably won't do much. You can (and should) occasionally do a cleaning cycle with products designed specifically for that, but even those won't completely clean out the softener. And that doesn't stop the other effects the product has, such as on your clothes. Thanks for the question!

Sub zero is the best. I have been using mine for 18 years with NO problems. We bought the fridge column and freezer column separate to make a side-by-side and that prevented the ice maker from being inside of the fridge, which seems to cause most repair issues according to the experts. In my previous home, we acquired a sub-zero from the former owner. We sold the house to a relative and they continued to use that same fridge. That model had the ice maker inside of the fridge and that is the only repair issue they had.

Just got mine and I am quite happy after four loads with different types of clothes and bedding. I will start doing towel only washes/dries, however, as when I did a mixed load with towels included, it took about 4 hours to finish, versus 2.5 hours for just clothing. Did a queen comforter with an extra rinse cycle and it took three hours total and came out feeling warm and very dry.

just purchased TR7, washcloths I use to remove makeup: no makeup is removed, NONE. I can't imagine what is wrong. Should I have purchased the TC5? Help! My plan is to build a home in the upcoming year. We will sow this new set into the buyers of this home. For the new build now I am wondering is the TC5 should be purchased. Will I have the same issue with it i am wondering. I switched to this after decades of the front loaders but I have to say with those I never had this issue. I understood the speed queen washed tons better than these kinds :( I'm so regretting my purchase.
@BoulevardHome
@BoulevardHome 4 күн бұрын
Sorry to hear that! It's true that the TC7 is less aggressive on clothing than the TC5, but I'm surprised to hear it won't clean your washcloths. I can't say for sure if the TC5 will, but it is known to be more aggressive. Were any of your previous washers able to get the makeup off? If the soil is really that tough, you might just have to pre-treat them unfortunately. Thanks for watching!

I've been having issues with my unit. I had it replaced twice, and the pump replaced on the 3rd unit. There's a design flaw which prevents the unit from draining correctly in the dry cycle. It won't siphon the water out correctly and will back flow back into the unit which then prevents the heat pump from running correctly. I've tested this extensively and you'll see the wattage sit at 50+ watts instead of 400-700 watts. Then randomly you'll also get an error that the drain is clogged, and you need to clean out the pump filter. This problem also causes water to seep into the drum and wet the dried clothes during the fan cycle at the end of the load. This is issue is caused when you have a drain above the height of the unit. Mine is 54" high which in the manual says is within spec but that is not true. If you're experiencing extremely long dry times and wet clothes, these are all symptoms of the pump not correctly draining. It seems you need to be within 34" or less for the unit to drain correctly. When I place the drain hose during the dry cycle in a trash can, the unit dries appropriately and no water seeps into the drum. The heat pump stays on continuously until the fan cycle as well. I'm in the process of trying to resolve this issue with LG. I suspect if this unit had a check valve or backflow preventer, this would not be an issue and the unit would work as intended.
