Thak you for taking the time to post this honest review. We wish we had the generous space your laundry/mud room has! There is nothing to apologize for there. It looks very practical and roomy. We ordered our DC5/TC5 set and will be getting them installed next week. We are looking forward to experiencing the same great performance you have seen. Your video is to the point and very informative. Well done! TJ

I'm looking at purchasing this same washing machine because I wanted to buy a top load with an agitator that actually agitated the clothes hard enough to get the laundry clean! I also didn't want a damn locking lid! My current GE top load sounds like an MRI machine with every swish that barely moves the clothes! I have to presoak any clothes for at least a half hour to get them to come out reasonably clean. AND I've had to redo laundry numerous times to try and get stains out! So based on another friend who also purchased the TC5 and this video, this is what I'll be upgrading to! Great video and thanks for sharing! 👍

We've had the Speed Queen TR7 for about 5 years now. Can't imagine getting any other washer/dryer. Everything else is junk in comparison. I think these things will outlast me. I had a maytag washer for 1 year before the TR7 and the plastic lid hinge kept breaking every year on the dot. The lid was $350. I finally started looking for a washer that wasn't made of plastic. I have had it with these other brands. 5 Years of the speed queen and haven't had to drop a penny into it.

I purchased the Speed Queen TC5 about 2 months ago. I had to get used to not having a choice of water level. It’s either 1/2 full or 3/4 full. It’s not a problem now. If you do use fabric softener you need to select the “deep fill” option. It took me a little while to figure out the dryer. It doesn’t have a “moisture sensor” to tell me when the clothes are dry, so I have to guess. My previous washer and dryer were Maytag and they were 27 years old. I loved them! It had the moisture sensor and I do miss that on this dryer. I’m glad I did not get the Speed Queen TR7. I didn’t like that the lid locked and I didn’t like how the agitator only swished the clothes. I feel that the TC5 gets the clothes a lot cleaner. It seems to have the same powerful agitator that my old Maytag had.

You picked the best set they make new today. And good thing you didn’t get that new series they offer from speed queen that simply cannot clean laundry. This is the only washer that turns over loads of laundry and cleans effortlessly. It’s the same machine speed queen has been making since the late 80s the only difference is the control panel has been updated thru out the years of course. Excellent and educated choice good for you!! You will love these for the many decades they’ll last.

Don't use timed dry either use sensor dry on normal. If you keep using times dry the element with burn out and the dryers enamel with come off. The sensor cycles regulate the heat according to the moisture leaving the dryers exhaust. Therefore you won't take the enamel off the drum.

I think your mud room looks great actually.... I have a whilrpool duet front load bought in 2005... and 20 years later (almost) it still works.... I'm so confused... it's gotten some filthy clothes clean.... It has a soak option if something is really dirty..... I add detergent, choose soak cycle and it soaks for about 30 min's... then it turns off... then I go back and start the cycle I want to finish the load...I've had zero problems with a front load getting dirty clothes clean... But I do love Speed Queens too... they are built like tanks.

The Speed Queen washer and dryer set you have should be a great investment. You may have paid double the cost of the average washer and dryer set, but in the long run you are better off. If you for example, spend $1500 for a washer and dryer, you might get 6 years out of them. I would rather pay $3000 for the same Speed Queen set you have and get 25 or more years out of this washer and dryer set. I will likely get a SPEED QUEEN TC5 washer within 6 months. Hopefully, I can get one in my own city from a dealer that has SPEED QUEEN washers and dryers. For household use, I heard that your TC5 washer could last for 20 plus years. This is not common for most other household washers you can find at BEST BUY, HOME DEPOT, LOWES, or CONNS. These places won't sell SPEED QUEEN washers and dryers because you won't be coming back to their stores or websites in 3 to 7 years to buy a new set.

@@deliciouslysaid We are both into shopping for highest quality and making them last. If you find out that it is ok, please let me know. He gets upset when we see this tip for softening repeatedly. He just knows stuff and recently got 5-6 more months on dishwasher that stopped cleaning suddenly. I’m not sure what he changed. We also don’t use pods for washing or dishwashing. The KZbin channel Technology Connections gives a lot of tips about dishwashing. One was where he took a dishwasher and did a lot of testing along with the soap to use and why. We have never had a problem with everything coming clean always until 7 months ago and when it finally died. Our new KitchenAid cleans 100% of time. I went with that brand as don’t want a filter to clean and other features.

I'm considering this washer, but may opt for the TR7 or TR5. Reason being that you can't do small or medium loads on the TC5. I want the TC5 agitator, but wish it had more fill size settings. How do you do small loads on this model. Great video btw.
@TABL3SIX2 ай бұрын
I went with the TC5. Hope the fill size isn't a big issue. The way SQ customer service explained it is you need the extra water because of the agitation. Didn't need that on my old Kenmore series 80 of 20+ years. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@deliciouslysaid2 ай бұрын
@@TABL3SIX I agree with you. I wish it did have a water/size option. I remember back in the day the washers had that. And I think about the amount of water when I’m doing a small load but there’s really not anything I can do. I’m just thankful it washes really well. I hope you enjoy your machine!
@LCSelf2 ай бұрын
What did you go with? I'm trying to decide between the TC5 and the TR7. The water level is the only reason I'm hesitating on the TC5. The TR5 doesn't have a soak option, which I use all the time. So, it's either the TR7 with all the bells and whistles I don't need or the TC5.
@TABL3SIX2 ай бұрын
@@LCSelf I went with the TC5. The TR7 along with all the bells and whistles is different technology. TC5 uses agitation to get clothes clean. TR7 pushes the water through the clothes. It is supposed to be gentler on clothes. There has been some controversy that it does not do a good job on very dirty clothes. I wanted something like my old Kenmore. TC5 is the closest. IMHO. One thing I dont like about the TC5 is it only has 2 load sizes; normal which is about 70% of the drum and deep fill which 90%. No small wash.

We bought the exact same washer plus dryer pair from a local store in April of this year. Both had to be repaired within the first 2 months. The dryer had a timer sometimes getting stuck so it would continue drying overnight without stopping. The washer had started making horrible noises when agitating: this took two service visits for a technician to diagnose as some kind of a seal and replace it. Hopefully that's it.
