Speed Reloads: Shotgun Quad Loads 101

What is quad loading? The first time I saw someone quad load a shotgun in a competition, it
seemed like a magic trick. In a matter of seconds, the competitor flipped the shotgun, loaded in
four shells with one hand movement, and was back on target. That’s quad loading.

Nice video, I've never shot a semi shotgun but I don't like the extra step of hitting a shell release. Do they all have it? My first shotgun (stoeger P3000) was really pinchy and would accidentally ghost load and jam up if I didn't push them in far enough. I've since sold that gun and have a benelli supernova and mossberg 500 that I find much easier to load. It was probably newbie user error but I didn't like it

Try a stoeger M3K. Much more user friendly. And yes you have to hit a bottom of some sort on all semi autos.

Is it ok to practice this with live rounds? I've been doing it but I noticed my shells are starting to look a little beat up from it. I just sit in my bedroom and practice my reload. If it does somehow goes off without me pulling the trigger I have it so it's pointed through the window and into the large empty field. Also I practice with birdshot so it's definitely not going very far from an 18" barrel.

The 410 will be a bit rough to do, the shells are quite small for the method. The gun might have to be altered by removing metal until there is just enough to hold the shell catches to allow the shooter to drive the shells into the mag tube. Those with smaller hands have an advantage as they can actually stick their thumbs into the loading path to push past the latches. Still it would be a fun video. . Here is a funny thought, this method actually allows for a far higher sustained rate of fire out of a shotgun than a detachable magazine. But then, for a sustained rate of fire, over say a 5 minute string, a single shot break action with an ejector can win.
