​@@therchotspot not sure how NIMH batteries work in parraallel but you're basically doubling the voltage you're sending to the motor when you use two batteries the way you are. I'm surprised the thing hasn't blown up or caught on fire yet while doing that TBH. Does it get really hot?

@heywood1980 Hey I was using the adapter traxxas has for in series not in parallel. This one increases the speed while the parallel adapter they have increases run time. Here is a description of the adapter I was using: "Traxxas Series Battery Wire Harness. Use the series harness to combine battery voltage and unlock the 50+mph speed potential of your model. Dual-battery operation requires attention to precautions outlined in the model's owners manual. Follow all precautions to assure peak performance and reliability of your model and batteries. Traxxas parallel and series Y-harnesses are for use with 2/3A battery packs only. "

@heywood1980 while it does get a little hot, this car was designed to run fine off two batteries in parallel or series
