Thank you for this video. I’ve ordered that cam to put in my 496. It runs amazing with a Ron’s 1800CFM flying toilet. I also matched it with Brodix BB3 xtra heads PTC 5500 stall. Now I’m thinking of adding a couple HP by adding a single plane tunnel ram

For the street I like this cam on a tighter LSA...maybe 110-112...and also on a billet core. Spend the extra $$$ and get the billet version!

On that na 496... not sure what heads it has but... I'd probably run it on a 107. Also would look for something with more lift. Less duration if you wanted peak power where it was (same overlap, less duration). Would probably make a little more power and a good bit more usable torque through the rpm range.

How about putting a hydraulic can this motor for zero maintenance.. I love big power...but I'm pushing 60 and getting lazy to pop the valve cover and lash valves all the time

I have a Bullet hydraulic roller cam with almost same specs in a turbo bbc and I love that cam , I had Richards favourite bbc cam before and I must say the hydraulic Bullet cam works way better and no maintenance.

@@454Tony1 shouldn't have to have that much brodix heads afr dart off the shelf would work. Just tell the cam grinder, which would be comp cams in this case, what you have for springs and they should be able to hook you up.

What would the equivalent of this cam be for a 496 Oldsmobile with 9.5 to 10 compression naturally aspirated with hydraulic lifters and would it perform about the same in a Oldsmobile motor?

Just my thoughts but you might be limited by cylinder head options. I could be 100% wrong because I haven't had a real Oldsmobile powered Oldsmobile in like 20 years they may have stepped up the aftermarket game since then.

Assuming it's a standard base circle cam, yes it can. However, there's a few small things we'd need to know before recommending a camshaft for a marine application. Give us a call or send us an email and we can talk about your options!

@@Compcams1976 rpm range too high.. look for a cam with a 1200-4500 ish range.. ie max torque around 2500 to 4500 is perfect for marine use.

If your gonna run a turbo or blower that compression will be fine. Me personally I'd look for a cam with an earlier intake valve closure if I was planning on running it na.
