I think it is an elongation issue. I usually cut my orange to 600% but my green to 550% you will get more life out of your green if you add a cm or 2. I am having the same struggles with gong chi green. The reccomended elongation on those is 400% more than that you are lucky to get 200 shots out of a set. Nice video man.

I have had some similar issues with GZK green. I have since moved to a different band. Thanks for posting this. It takes courage because GZK green is like the holy grail of bands. 👊 ( and yes they are fast!)

I'm just trying to find something that gives me the best compromise of speed, longevity, price, and availability. GZK Green will be my hunting bands 100%... But yikes on longevity...

I've heard much hyped reviews about SimpleShot black band & have had them ordered .. But I also prefer theraband gold & black.. I'm using them on Jörg Sparve RamBone 2.0 & also on Saunders Wing.. I haven't tried GKZ green band as yet.. But will order them as well for trial.. Nice video indeed!

Nice video...very obvious from your comments green bands just need to be a bit longer to feel right at your draw length and to increase band longevity. Very nice speed...I wonder what speed sacrifice with a little longer bands?
@TheSmoShow13 жыл бұрын
I agree... must be cut slightly longer, probably a half inch would be perfect. The breakage issue isn't helped by maxing the bands out, but I'm getting breakage even on longer bands and the all strips I cut for tiring the bands to the forks. I'll be doing a video soon comparing MANY different brands of latex, so stay tuned!

Thanks for the review. I am currently using Theraband Gold. I am pulling it to about the same lenth. So now l can safely guess l too am shooting it at around 175 to 200 fps.

I concur completely with m'Learn'd colleagues findings. GZK is faster and smoother shooting but runs out quicker. TBG is a truck of a thing. I like GZK...a lot... but while I'm paying the bills I'll be cutting my own TBGs. Thanks for posting.
@MDM19923 жыл бұрын
Theraband gold is dead for me now, started using gzk black and love it theraband has way less power with way more inconsistencies, it used to be great but theraband has changed a lot over the years. Thickness has changed, quality has gone downhill and they snap so damn easily, even if gzk band doesnt last very long i can live with less shots that are more powerful and consistent, i have to try precise and other brands though i just bought a roll of .66 gzk black to try it out and been getting along with it great, really snappy with 9.5 steel at the right taper, much better for hunting than theraband ever was gzk bands hit hard
@henrythang073 жыл бұрын
So is theraband no good now? I was into slingshots a couple years back when everyone used theraband and theraband only. And I just got back into slingshots and now all I see are people using a these color full Chinese bands
@TheSmoShow13 жыл бұрын
TheraBand is fine, but the performance characteristics and quality people are looking for now, are lacking in TBG... Honestly, I like TheraBand but they have some issues: inconsistent band thickness, short roll (5in wide vs 6in for other brands)... The speed isn't as good as other brands, longevity doesn't seem to be as good, etc.. If you're willing to work with the roll and double cut your bands it'll work fine.
@FTA4evr4 жыл бұрын
I've been meaning to try GZK, but haven't yet, but the speeds you're getting inspires me to get some. It does look like you're maxing out those bands.

No...not at all... Gzk is very smooth N Sweet but rough old amber 'lackyband is tougher. Fit fine and last long time 😉. When my current batch of Precise White runs out I'm going TBG across the board. Hathcock Sniper, PPMG+ and my cheapo Chinese Toucan ( which is real bad with a 20mm straight cut...just SO bad! I might have to relent with my frameless habit though.

I shoot 3/4 butterfly and I shoot thumb down. I shot thumb up for a very long time, and once I made the switch i havnt looked back. If I try thumb up now, its like I have to strain everything to go get my draw. Theraband never lasted long for me and don't know why. I like gzk green but if you max them out then they are not comfortable bands to shoot but they are great if you don't max them. My favorite target bands for 3/8 ammo is sumeike. .5 and simpleshot black .5 but if im hunting i use gzk, gr .62,sumeike .55 - .6, precise .5-.65 and snipersling .5 or .6. Heads up. The snipersling is the most stretchy bands I have ever used. I cut them a full 1 inch or 2.5cm less than anything else and they still have more give. They are probably the most comfortable bands to shoot. They have the feel of theraband but wicked speed. I got 300fps the other day with them. Sumeike .6 (blue) was the only thing that had ever got me over 300 fps with a somewhat light draw up till then.
@TheSmoShow13 жыл бұрын
You say you've gotten 300fps on Sniper sling?? That's 3/8steel with a full butterfly?
@205jab43 жыл бұрын
@@TheSmoShow1 yes 301 to be exact lol but thats not aiming, thats pulling pointing and releasing.I dont know what a short draw would produce but I would imagine about 35- 45 fps less.
@205jab43 жыл бұрын
@@TheSmoShow1 Also go watch kalevalaslimgshot review on them. I talked to him as well. He agreed that they are way stretchy and wicked fast with a light draw. It is one of my favorites. I just subscribed to your channel. Keep it up. We need people to give honest opinions.

@TheSmoShow12 жыл бұрын
yes, TBG can work, but you need a more extreme taper and max the bands stretch out when you hit your anchor point. Try a 30-20 taper if you use a short draw, or a 25-15 taper with a longer draw

Do you shoot with thumb through the middle of the fork obv with ott only? I don't know weather you do actually do that I know safety is an issue but I tried it and now I am 100% more accurate using this technique as I say I don't know if this frowned upon because it's dangerous ie risk hitting the thumb with the bb but as long as I aim down the Bands n take my time to make sure I am as lined up as possibly can be then I have not hit my thumb yet and my accuracy is through the roof....I only use this style of shooting with 8 mm bb as I don't fancy risking having a 9.5 bb indented under surface of my flesh on thumb, I am not promoting this I just saying sometimes I shoot this way and it's spot on target no probs so if u are going to do this n your a beginner please be careful maybe wear a glove or a bit of leather protecting that part of thumb n hand stay blessed peeps as always I love the instructional and the info on all the latex is awesome i wouldn't know what bands to get if it wasn't for the slingshot community ps please if you have not done it yet can you please test thicker bands .80 upwards and do tapers like 25/20 and 30/20 I want to know how destructive this is n powerful for hunting info etc thanks bro

You get an insanely heavy draw weight with a very slight increase in power.. unless you're shooting REALLY heavy ammo, just use single bands taper cut at an appropriate length and you'll be way better off
