Me again! But perhaps the best aspect of these wonderful clips is that there's no irritating and intruding voice-over or abrupt sound edits instead the ambient sounds of, for example, the bleating of distant sheep or rain falling in oak woods contributes to the extraordinary feel-as-if-you're-there factor..in the old days it used to be called NATSOF, natural sound on film.

Wonderful stuff. Beautifully and sensitively shot with generous pans and spectacular wides to end. I especially like the carefully observed cut-aways between each main shot, it makes me feel I'm there.

Lovely footage, I Hope for better things in 2021. I think Saphos undoubtedly won the " Wibble of the year" with 70000 running as 70022 and 34046's FTR discussion on Facebook before the Cotswold express running a close second 😂.

Cheers, Callum 😄 Yes, 2020 was truly the year of the wibble 😂

That being said Saphos did also produce imo was the highlight of the year. 46100 & 70000 on the Devon banks 😁

You definitively post the most artistically-filmed & technically-adept railway videos on KZbin, it's pretty obvious where you switch to the new Panasonic HCX-1500 & subsequent BP4025 mic even though your original files are quite heavily compressed for uploading I'd imagine. Always interesting & appreciated anyway!

Hi Kris and thank you for posting something to get us out of the current gloom! A nicely produced and beautifully filmed 90 minutes (as per usual!). How big was that 50P 4K file that you uploaded?? Looking forward to seeing you & your dad later in the year (when we have both had our jabs hopefully!). Best wishes, Alan

Many thanks, Alan, good to hear from you. Only a mere 25GB, a positively tiny file, haha! Likewise, it'll be good to see yourself out and about again in the future. All the best, Kristian.

@@SpeedToTheWest That is a much smaller file than I expected Kris!. I am just switching up to 4K and would like to ask you a couple of questions if you can spare the time. Contact me privately on Almar.longwools@outlook.com if you like. P.S. please remove this comment from KZbin. Best wishes, Alan

Cracking video to brighten up the gloom Chris 👍I suppose with the the area you live in it would be a horrendous day out for you to do Shap or the S&C without staying over somewhere 🤔☹️

Just clocked your vid, some nice stuff, couple of questions, what was your before and after camcorder? like your smooth pans, what tripod and head is used and what is your editing gear ie: computer and software, i take stills mainly but do vid when the weather is not so good, am using sony AX53 and use some open source (free) software called Shotcut.
@SpeedToTheWest3 жыл бұрын
Many thanks, John. My previous camcorder was a Panasonic VXF990, using a Pro Sound L92AA microphone; my current camcorder is a Panasonic HC-X1500, first using the same Pro Sound mic, then using an Audio Technica BP4025 from mid-September onwards. My tripod is a combination, using the legs from a Viltrox VX-18M, with a Manfrotto MVH502AH head. Editing wise, I use Sony Vegas Pro 15.
