I'll be at SV in two weeks so I've been studying your videos in preparation. Great driving, very impressive! I would have expected Cup 2's on this car!

Thank you. Regarding the tires, I may have been mistaken. I noticed in one of the other comments on another video I mention that the 488 pista was on cup2's. I don't remember now. At one point I thought one of the instructors told me of the cars I drove just the Lambo STO and the GT3 RS were on Cup 2's so now I am confused. What is surprising is that the Porsche GT3 was not on Cup2's which is the OEM tire for that car. My son drove the GT2 RS which I think was on Cup2 tires. I regret not driving that car. I bet the cars that get driven the most are likely on PS4S tires due to short life span of cup2's. Have fun and bring a lot of money because it is gets very expensive, especially when paying for two people. lol.

I'm heading out to Vegas this weekend, and I have checked out more than a few of these videos. Most guys are pretty crappy drivers, but Mark is good. I can tell he does HPDEs or track days. This will be my benchmark for time!

The 54.XX in the GT3RS was impressive! I started HPDEs in my Boxster S manual last year and immediately swapped it for a PDK 718 Cayman GTS with subsequent upgrades to brakes, Cobb Stage 1, tires, camber plates... I run pretty competitive times on the tracks that I have actually learned, so this will be a challenge being a new track. KZbin videos just aren't the same, but it should help some. Any tips? My best friend/business partner and I are the two best drivers in the group, and we are extremely competitive (for the last 31 years). He got me by 0:00.07 last time. That was before I started racing my car ... ;-) We are doing the 488GTB

@@jabbawitz Mark Turrentine 3 months ago Steve, below is a cut and paste of a comment I made to someone on the GT3 RS where I ran a 54 sec lap. Also, importantly, the RS was on Michelin Cup2 tires and the 488 GTB was on michelin pilot 4s's. The cup 2 tires make a big difference. If you are trying to have the best time, chose a car with cup2 tires. Yes. Turn one, use the curb to straighten out the turn as much as possible. Like way up on it as close to the cone as possible. May seem bumpy but the suspension can handle it. Easily can do 60-65 through that turn. Most people seem to way over slow there. Track out to to the paint, both wheels on the paint, unless it is damp. I think turn 4 maybe 5, a right hander is where I was leaving time. Try to stay in tight on the paint, which I seemed to have trouble doing. Use all the track for turn in and track out. If you are doing a slower cheaper car also, use that first to learn the track. Always use a cheaper car to learn the track if you are doing more than 1 car. As you know, the instructors will help you with the line. Be aggressive because it goes fast and very expensive. I look back on my laps and feel like I could have gone faster in a few places so regret that. Push hard! Hopefully you can get clean runs without traffic slowing you down. Seems like early in the day and later in the day has less traffic, but that may have just been a coincidence. If you beat my time let me know! Good luck!

@Steve Scariot hey, watch the cool down lap of the GT3 RS video where I ran 54 sec. The instructor discribes the perfect line in detail in turns 3 and 4. Turn 4 is where I was leaving some time.
