Hi @cliff6490, hey thanks so much for your comment! Great to hear you've picked up a Speedaire too and will be doing a similar job. They are super well made units. Really appreciate the feedback. Good luck with the project!

I got one exactly like that I had to replace the switch too now I'll be replacing the pump that little black air hose you can go to a big truck parts store and get it by the foot and the release valve you toss nothing is wrong with it the old one you reuse could've been worn by kicking in and out so many times noting is made in the U.S. anymore wherever it was made it wouldn't be sold here if it wasn't tested and past all U.S. specifications I'd use it if done the right way you'll have a good compressor for a long time

Hi @hubertrobinson8825 thanks very much your comment! Great to hear you have the same compressor, and sounds like you had the same issue with the pressure switch / regulator. Yeah, you're right about the pressure release valve, but the old one still works fine (made in the USA) and I've kept the new one and will swap it out if it gives me any grief. Thanks again for your comment and if you haven't already please subscribe :) Appreciate it!

@@MadTinkerman I just did I do a little bit of tinkering with air compressors as a matter the very first one I owned I built it myself from an air tank off a 40ft trailer a 1hp electric motor and a half dead pump it saved me from pumping farm tractor tires and repairing the flats on the damn Ford courier I was cheap enough to buy back in the mid 70s guess I learned from my mistakes now I enjoy playing with air compressors
