Three years ago!? How am I so behind this wonderful print making tool. Amy, I love your enthusiasm and surprise with what you're pulling from the prints, Thanks for making it look fun and now I get to try my new gel plate gifted to me from my husband.

How long does it take these soy inks with no drying agents to dry to the touch? Is it longer on Bristol than on Sonerset, for example. Thanks.

It’s a great question! The drying time will vary depending on the humidity and a lot of different factors. Our product experts will be able to help you via email. Please contact us at info@speedballart.com.

Hi thanks for the tutorial , I used exactly same ink and gelli plate , but whenever I put a mark on the plate , it will diappear or get a lot less obviously after 10 second. I will to constantly add texture to the print. Do you know how to solve this issue ? I am using akua intaglio in Paynes Grey . Thank you ! Nanxi

Just bought my kit today. Can I use this with alcoholic inks and acrylic paint? Specifically ranger / Tim holtz. And ones I made myself using sharpies?
@speedball_art6 жыл бұрын
Hi Scott! Thank you for your purchase of one of our Gel Printing kits! Our Gel Printing plates are specially formulated for use with a range of printmaking inks (block, screen or Akua printmaking inks) or acrylic paints with longer open times (e.g. Golden Open Acrylic Paints). For additional information on product suitability, please visit www.SpeedballArt.com or contact us at info@speedballart.com. Thank you!

What kind of paper can I use to pull print with the speedo gel plate?
@speedball_art2 жыл бұрын
That’s a very personal choice! Different paper generates different effects and it could be fun to experiment!

Thank you for the video. I have heard to never use any kind of oil on the gel plate! Can you comment on this? Is the alcohol in the baby wipe Ok?
@speedball_art6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question! We have utilized a range of different scent-free/sensitive baby wipe brands on these plates and have not experienced any degradation or alteration in the performance quality. We have found, however, that the best/quickest way to remove excess inks from the plate is to simply utilize newsprint in between prints to lift off any excess ink that may remain. We hope this helps, but feel free to contact us at info@speedballart.com if we can answer more about your particular project! Thank you!

what paper do you recommend with akua and gel plate?
@speedball_art6 жыл бұрын
While suitable for use with a range of papers, we use and recommend our Arnhem 1618 Printmaking Paper or our Bienfang Bristol Paper for creating gel prints with Akua.
