(This film is sponsored) I was thrilled to be asked to collaborate on this film with an amazing new women’s resource called Health & Her. They asked me to create a Makeup for Menopause Tutorial using products and skincare suited to those of us who are experiencing the menopause. The menopause comes to all of us, and it can be a really tough time, especially as there isn’t very much conversation about what to expect. I researched skincare and makeup products to stay put through hot flushes, to help you feel brighter, better and a bit more you, at a time when every little lift is needed and welcomed! I hope you find this makeup tutorial and advice useful and please do check out the Health and Her website. Details can be found further down in this description.
Attached are links to all the products and make up mentioned in this film:

Disclaimer:
The aim of Speed Beauty is to introduce you to and provide you with techniques for make up, skin & hair care products. I only show you products that I love and really believe in. Each product I use is heavily researched before deciding to make a film and I try and provide you with as much accurate information as possible. The views on this KZbin Channel are my own and are based on having personally tried the products myself.
The products I use in these films are either bought by myself, are part of my professional kit or they’ve been sent to me by PR companies for review. This film is a sponsored post with Health and Her and it does contain some affiliate links in the description, but not all. If you are happy to click on these links to continue support this channel that would be very lovely, thank you.
You should always research whether the products I recommend are suited to you. Everyones skin is different and I offer no warranties and don’t claim to be a dermatologist. Some products are really expensive and an investment purchase so it’s always wise to test product on your skin to check for allergies or adverse reactions before you buy. Some make up & skin care brands offer you samples to take away & try. This is always a good idea before deciding on an expensive purchase.

Another tip I would add is to stay active with your friends. Going to coffee or , even, to the grocery store with a friend or friends. Some days I had to force myself to get out but it made a difference for me.

I'm coming to the end of my treatment for breast cancer and have been warned about an early menopause. I wear make up every day so thank you Caroline. Isn't nature weird? Why do women have to go through all this nonsense when they've already endured 30 plus years of periods. I wish they'd just stop and that would be the end of it. Alas...... 😃

I am 56 and just about finishing the menopause, having the flushes (luckily not drenched in perspiration), but the hormonal, moody fluctuations kick in at times (though I've suffered with endometriosis for a long time, so for me the Menopause is a relief). Not only did you give good advice on makeup, but what a nice caring way, of reassuring ladies who are feeling low in themselves, through this difficult time. I love the calm and genuine way in which you present your videos, you aim it at the person watching Xx

Hi Caroline, I’m 5 hrs behind your time and was late anyway in watching you today. I wanted to give a massive thank you for discussing a topic that is like the whole topic of aging...almost taboo it seems. This is sad as aging and menopause are undeniable facts of life. I was so pleased and surprised by this video you did today, again thank you for all of us who are in menopause and yes aging also.👍🏻😊

Hi Caroline, thank you so much for making this video. A really important and much neglected topic. I really appreciate the personal and caring approach you’ve taken, while packing in all the great professional tips and practical help that you always provide in your how-to’s. You are so right that it can be a really tough road at this stage of life, and having that extra confidence in how you look can make all the difference between getting out and into your life, and being overwhelmed by the anxiety and feelings of social withdrawal that can accompany this time, even for those who have never experienced that before. That very last line was pure gold. And now I’m off to check out the Clinique foundation! Thanks for all your great work Caroline, your channel is one of a very, very few that I always look forward to and never miss catching up on! Very best wishes 🙂

This is great. Thank you. Had an early menopause 39 to 42. I am now 53. The hardest bit was redness and make up slipping off during the working day. EL double wear has been a contestant and doesn't budge. You are on the money.. it is all about the oestrogen. I saw a dermatologist who suggested very gentle cleanser Avene and La Roche Posey Toleraine and these are good for rosacea too. I'm off to try the Clinique foundation and eyebrow products now you use in this video.

Thank you so much Caroline. I’m really struggling with various menopausal symptoms and find that the way foundation looks on my skin makes me look older, settling into the lines around my mouth. @@weltenbummlerin632 agree these companies are just after money. I wish they would produce products that are not tested on animals. Users need to refuse to buy their products but alas people more concerned re their looks than the testing on animals otherwise these companies would have been pressured years ago and would have come up with products not tested on animals.

What a lovely person you are. This is so long overdue on YT. I'm not getting hot flushes, but goodness that skin laxity is a shock. The dryness too! I've actually found oils best (particularly a rosehip oil, tho you have to do your research on which one. Who knew it had tretinoin in?!), then sealed with an cream. I've added morning Vit C now that's made such a difference (GoW at Victoria Health) and a twice a week exfoliation (with Lixirskin's PHA). Also using Pai's lovely gentle cleanser as my skin's become so sensitive. The worst thing almost immediately was the arrival of LOTS of pigmentation that's really hard to cover. Using a tinted SPF50 mineral sunscreen but can't say I like it's heavy feel. Anyway, thank you SO much! Brilliant.

We call them hot flashes (in the states) as well. And hot flashes, like all symptoms, can vary not only in severity but also in frequency. some women never have them. I had mild ones early on but nothing severe (no visible redness and I just dressed in layers but they were very short in duration.). Great vid
@laurahelene9118

Right on! I dress in layers because I still get hit with hot flashes but they are much less than they used to be. Mine were also short in duration. But they come on out of the blue and hit you like thunder. Thankfully they leave pretty quick too. I really hope that that is true for all of us and then those flashes of blistering heat don't last a long time for anyone.

I use a tablet called Estrovera that I buy at my acupuncture office. It prevents my hot flashes. My other issue is that I have gained 10 lbs over the last 17 years. I’m 57. I’m fortunate that I’m a slender built person, so the weight gain isn’t really noticeable to others. I eat a super clean diet and do some walking and yoga. I guess if I ramped up the exercise it might fall off🤪

This was great. As a post-menopausal woman I would also add to the above that prescription strength Tretinoin if used slowly and carefully is an absolute game-changer. I’ve had all my female sex organs removed and gone into an early, and sudden, menopause (after cancer drugs shutting things down for months). What I wanted to say, is that I threw myself into research about menopause and how to deal with it. I held a strong belief that nature would not intend that it be a time of suffering, as we’ve been convinced, and that it should really be our greatest time of life. I have found that is correct, and that with a truly healthy lifestyle, diet and doing things like meditation and exercise etc, you can make all the horrible symptoms disappear and just thrive!:) I personally follow a vegan lifestyle, and believe this is the greatest path for all, but I do recommend the non-vegan book(that’s easy veganised;) called ‘The Hormone Fix’ by Dr Anna Cabeca, as a great start for people. It teaches you a diet to follow, and educates about how to beat any menopause symptoms, and how the unbalanced hormones create those horrible symptoms. Thankfully there is a growing wealth of help out there about this subject. I also recommend ingesting cbd, and have seen that being added to lots of skin care now too. I’ve also found stying Ayurveda (for your doshas and gunas) to be of the upmost importance too. Sorry, this is a long message...But this is why I’ve just mentioned that one book at least, where all the work and research has been done for us, and gives a very easy path that leads us perfect health. Best of luck every one of you goddesses, may you all go on to lead your best and most beautiful lives❤️

I recently had my ovaries removed due to serious illness and I too went into instant (and way too early) menopause. I'm going to check this book out. Do you feel these lifestyle changes that you made are holding the aging process at bay? I've noticed drastic changes in my skin and feel as if I've aged overnight.

Very nice comment, I am also a vegan and exercise, yoga and meditation helped me immensely. It is never too late to start them. All the best to you!

I am a big fan of Aurveyda, I think nature provides all of the answers. I've had Endometriosis, fibroids and cysts, I was on the verge of a hysterectomy because I was in so much pain, it was basically destroying my life, my two children were grown up, but the two month recovery bothered me as I run my own business (just me), so I never went through with it. I started to take Turmeric with black pepper, Omega 3's and alkalising foods. Within two weeks the pain subsided and my CA125 tumour marker (which was sky-high) had returned to normal at my following consultation, it was a standing joke with my Consultant who exclaimed "you're cured" (which is untrue of course because Endometriosis, though benign, has no cure). The symptoms have never returned. Inflammation is the root of all disease, the more acidic your body is the more open to health problems. So I totally agree with you on fighting disease via this root, thank you for getting the word out there, I try to tell everyone that will listen Xx

@@Venus77x Hello, very interesting comment. Can you please share how exactly you took the turmeric and black pepper and Omega 3?. I am in good health but sometimes my knee hurts and it bothers me a bit during my yoga routine. I know it is inflamation and although I am a vegan, I can't resist a bit of sugar. Next morning, my knee hurts. :)))) Thank you and all the best wishes!

Hello Caroline, this question is probably appropriate to ask in the comments of this video. I'm peri-menopausal myself so a lot of things are changing quite rapidly, one thing being my eyesight. I've had 20/20 vision my entire life and didn't really need glasses until the last few years. I need them primarily if I want to read anything and I've noticed that I should be wearing them more often than I do. Would you show us one of your stunning eye looks adapted for glasses wearers? I'm feeling like I'm lost behind my glasses! Thank you so much!

This was really good. I love the soft look of the blush done in that way. I could not agree with you more about the placement a pinkish color or any color really. But it absolutely kills me when these women talk about natural coloring of blush and they put on a peach color. I have never seen flushed cheeks that are peach colored. the skin really does get hit hard by menopause. I am 51 and my symptoms have improved finally without any kind of estrogen replacement. Unfortunately the skin nearly Falls to your shoulders it seems. It is tough to recognize myself still in the mirror. I feel like these lines just showed up all of a sudden and I looked much older than I did even six months before. Anyone younger that's reading this do your skincare. Do it religiously and do it well. It really is the only fighting chance you have against Mother Nature.

Hi there 🙋🏼‍♀️ i was wondering if you could vibe me advice? Are the Daniel Sandler blushes suited for rosacea skin? I breakout from blushes all the time. Especially if they have shimmer. I am looking for a good blush because i am pale but it is so hard to find a blush that doesn’t break me out. Thanks in advance for your help. Best regards
