Fifty speeder rail cars rolled into Tamaqua on Saturday morning, offering onlookers a colorful glimpse of railroad history.
“Most cars are from the (19)40s to the '70s. Some older and newer are around though,” said Gary Shrey, who organized Saturday's excursion on the Reading and Northern Railroad.
Members of the North American Rail Car Operators Association followed a route that took them from Cressona to Locust Gap and back again.
They made a few stops along the way, including one at the Tamaqua Railroad Station.
