Couple things that I edited out for time. These types of products have heavy influencer campaigns (nothing wrong with that), but did want to thank these companies for allowing me to be honest as I've turned down many of these types of products because they often want a paid promotion (which this again was not) in exchange for a positive review. With that said, I think many people with small spaces or needs would benefit from these devices. Of all the things I own, my Motion Space (another similar product I reviewed) gets used the most by my wife because she likes it so much. Time will tell though how long the electronics will last with these products. Also, I just forgot to mention you can stream your music in the Sperax as well, which I thought is a cool feature. If you guys have any questions, I will provide an honest answer with respect to the companies. Thanks as always for watching.

I've had a gym pal since it was released. It works great for accessory exercises, but barbell exercises generally don't feel good. I would point out that you need to turn off spotter mode when you are doing alternating movements like curls. It's not a fault with the machine, but it will naturally think you have failed when you alternate arms. Glad to see that they dramatically improved the packaging as the first round of shipments (including mine) had damage to the case.

Thanks for this update. I like the barbell for curls / and chest presses, but the squats not so much. Thanks for those tips as well with the spotter mode.

I love that user interface on the sperax. I hate aps and think 90% of them across all products suck. If they made an upgraded version with 200+ lbs (100 per side) equivalent resistance I bet they'd have a runaway hit. For me, 66 lbs a side isn't enough.
@ECIA786 ай бұрын
Great stuff as usual Mike!! Thanks. I honestly think: should you consider a comprehensive smart gym equipment then Monster is probably the best overall option. Should you go for a first smart experience with little footprint, not great expectations, ease of usage, basic exercises, than skip completely the gym pal and start to look at the 500$ space where there are a ton of options. Most probably the one you reviewed today being the go to for versatility/footprint/user friendly. Thanks a lot Mike.

Just bought the Sperax gym from Amazon for around $80 with an Amazon coupon. Lower available resistance than I’d like, but thinking of picking up some resistance band hooks to attach to the bar so I can use my Undersun bands with it. Ever tried anything like this ?
@sinnervisionАй бұрын
Same thing I said when brought it. Low resistance but just use some bands to add extra. I paid 159 plus tax. Saw the 50 off and returned it and brought 2 for the same price 😂. So when one goes I'll have another. Good for arm workouts. Add bands and good for squats and deadlifts.
@hybridresistanceАй бұрын
Yes, I have actually. I think in one of my videos with these things I actually had a shot of it. The Gym Pal actually has a "chains mode" so it's like resistance bands.

@hybridresistance3 ай бұрын
My wife was really the one using it but has since stopped since I revamped the garage gym. But otherwise still working, but just collecting dust in our bed room. I'd look at that as a potential gamble that may or may not be worth it to you for $200
@bondo316 ай бұрын
I decided to try the Sperax as my first e-platform experience from Amazon being it was on sale. I'm sold on the eccentric and isokinetic modes of these machines, but as with your unit I also found the right side cable hanging up on me. I also found it strange that the included bluetooth remote with the machine only stops resistance and can't be used to start. I'll look to invest in a better smoother machine very soon, so I'm eyeing out the 1200-1500 range Gym Pal/ Squatz Apollo "Motion space clone" or Squatz Mini if the 900 dollar promo price comes back. Which would you recommend? I mainly do functional training for mobility and endurance as required in my day job.
@hybridresistance6 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing that. Good to know I'm not the only one. I've tried the Apollo Pluto and Motion space, both seem to have the same motor. All those along with sperax have the same voice activation person which makes me believe some of these may have the same motors or mechanics. Regardless overall the Speediance has the smoothest feel no question. My wife though, does prefer the sperax because of ease of use and footprint.
@CJHolcomb825 ай бұрын
I had a Gym Pal before I upgraded to the gym monster, and I also have a Squatz Apollo mini for travel. I will say that the Squatz mini does pretty well with lower resistance, but the motion becomes pretty jerky if you go above 30-35 pounds on each side. Which for squats or deadlifts I don't notice it too much, but with bench press and rows it is definitely noticeable. I just bought an Innodigym p1 Lite and it arrived today - I'm gonna give that one a try and see how I like it compared to the Squatz Mini Board.

@bondo31 I just received my Sperax and have the same issue with the right side. The right-side pulley is not as smooth and is very ruff compared to the left-side pulley. Sometimes, it has a delay in retracting the cord when doing exercises and does not retract at the same time as the left. Did anyone find a manual fix for this?

I don't know of any off hand. But some simple things that I would do..Upper Body: Standing Shoulder Presses, Bent over Rows, Lateral Shoulder Raises, Bicep Curls, and maybe tricep kick backs. Along with these I'd do some sort of chest exercise off machine. Reps x Sets (10-20 x 1-3). Lower Body: Squat, Deadlift, possibly lunge, and Calve Raises. Same Rep/Set Range. Hope that helps. My wife uses this a lot and it really just a mix of the above and it works out well for her.

I still think a traditional non electronic cable machine is a safer bet. Especially when pushing to failure. My total gym will never have a motherboard failure, PSU failure, etc….any traditional or as I’m calling them from now on, any analog cable machine shall suffice. But I won’t lie, the small footprint concept of the 2 devices shown is great. But as always mike got great content, appreciate your honest takes, keep it up, god bless bro.

I agree totally. I alluded to this at the end, but these are really luxury fun fitness items that I wouldn't think would have super long life (but never know ), but at the very least do offer some novel features. I also cut a big segment out about my concerns about benching with the ring to failure. Not so much with the machine but user error. Blessings to you as always brother.
@countbelisarius97427 ай бұрын
Great observation. For travel, I like my Maxpro. The lack of eccentric resistance means I will never get caught under a bar. Of course, you lose some benefit without the eccentric, but at 9 pounds, it’s very portable, and offers more resistance than the Spediance, Sperax, Tonal etc (but not Vitruvian). On a recent trip, I brought both my Maxpro and some resistance bands, but found I used only the former. It remains to be seen how the longevity of the Maxpro compares to the electronic cable machines and resistance bands. My guess is it will favor the Maxpro. For adjustable dumbbells, my 15+ year old Powerblocks are still going strong.
@hybridresistance6 ай бұрын
@@countbelisarius9742 the max Pro is a very cool device and one that I still have to do more with. The hard thing with that is really showing people the benefits of a device that has no eccentric. I definitely think you can get great results with that machine though.
