Hyanshading bust commission for Sumiiya
On this one I wanted to do some different things!
Like the hand pose and the cute mouth and tongue, honestly, I love the mouth here x)
Besides that, this OC has everything I like: white hair, navy blue (?) clothes, but also white and pink, oh yesss hnnng so much fun in a single drawing!! *W *)
Also there's some drawings, like this one, that I wonder if I should crop more for the ~ nice visuals ~ thing //thinking// I mean, there's a lot of empty space in the top part of the drawing, I feel like doing it more narrow. but it would crop her ears a bit i wi) what do you think?

How do i draw hair properly? I always draw them stiff and it doesn't feel like theres layers

Not the og artists. But an artist nonetheless and here's some things I've found to be helpful. First, reference pictures. Look at photographs if possible, but something really stylized like this look at art with a style you'd like. Second, keep the line work very, very light. Thick, heavy line work can easily weight it down. Most of the work should be either implied, or added with color. The same goes for unsteady strokes, let your wrist work, not your fingers. Third, Hair works in chunks, not strands. Start with blocks of shape and build on that. Good luck! Keep practicing!

tbh i don't get how you're able to erase it all out when you spent so much time on the hands and clothes and just restart it just like that. like damn, it must've taken a lot of effort to create it in the first place. so that's really amazing. also i have a question (if you don't mind answering): what size is the canvas (in pixels, cm, inch)? thank you and as always, your art is very detailed and beautiful

One thing I've always taught myself is: do not get attached to the sketch, if something looks wrong, erase it all and do again, editing takes a long time, is frustrating and not sure if you will actually improve or just do worse. If you erase you get a new chance, refresh your eyes, look references, and your recent mistake is fresh in your mind, so you maybe won't do it again. Hyan I wanted to ask, why do you do half of your work in SAI and other half in CSP? Are you gradually moving to CSP and why? I'm just curious!!

Not sure if moving, but I'm using Clip Studio more for polished pieces, because I love how it is to do lineart there! There isn't much more reason that that to be honest, both programs are great and I like them for different purposes.
