All of the comments here talking about how they're garbage in comparison are pretty sad to see... they're taking up about 99% of this whole comments section when the majority of comments should be straight praise or clear compliments, not pity parties. Comments like these make artists uncomfortable most of the time. And from personal experience when people have sometimes compared themselves to me like that, it makes me feel bad and regret posting because I feel my art hurts people. Be proud of the art you make regardless of how you think it compares to someone else. All art is unique and expressive, it doesn't need to be "as good as someone else". Being as good as you can make it yourself should be enough to be happy.

And also everyone learns at different speeds. I’m 19 but I just picked up digital art last year. Of course a 16 yr old who started digital art when they were 13 is gonna be wayyyy better than me. It’s all about practice and experience and being able to identify your mistakes and learning from them. You are not going to improve as an artist by saying shit Like “wow this is better than anything I could ever draw”. It unrealistic to hope you’ll be the best. There’s always someone better than you. I wish these ppl would be saying “wow this Is so much better than anything I could draw. How did you practice? What references do you use? How do you learn your techniques”. That’s so much better bc it shows that the artist inspires you to improve rather than inspires you to get depressed about your art.

mhm, I started art at a very young age as well, but the way you get better is learning from those you look up to! Everyone learns at a different pace. When you talk yourself down it breaks your motivation and honestly, it hurts more than just you. What makes an artist great isn’t just their ability, it’s their hunger to improve and get better. The joy of creation is what matters, and if you’re not enjoying what you’re doing then relaxing a bit or watching speedpaints can help motivate you. But it should never ever bring you down c: an artist is never done learning, that’s why it’s so much fun discovering new techniques. Feeling bad for yourself will never make you happy about what you can create if you focus on what you can’t.

It's getting really annoying constantly seeing people go "When this is better than anything I've ever drawn" or "I Can'T eVen dRaW STicK FigUrEs" Like we know that they're joking but it's just a continuous cycle of laughing it off and trying to compliment them back to make them feel better. At this point, it sounds like they're saying it because it's become a common way to "compliment" the artist but really, it's getting annoying and uncomfortable to hear. Of course, we shouldn't be discouraging anybody or we should support those who need encouragement, but don't use an artist's post to try to gain pity on your own skills when the post is supposed to be appreciated.

i feel you ;;;; i used to draw with my finger on a very old tablet that i had before i had a phone buuuut then i found that medibang and ibisxpaint (some brushes) do force a pen sensitivity if you want ;) aaaaand if you have a pen that at the tip has this kind of rubber to protect the actual pen, you can draw with that!

It comes to show that you don't need expensive equipment to make amazing art. Just the many practice that resulted in such talent. You can have the most high tech, best quality screen tablet, use the most advanced application, but if one doesn't have the talent, those things are just as useless as garbage.
