Approximately how long did it take, and did you have an overall light color over the canvase?

Very nice work. Apologies if these are basic questions. Was this done in oil? It's hard to tell if you were waiting for it to dry, with acrylics, that you weren't mixing colors. If oil, wouldn't the paint mix a little? Also, what white were you using that it kept fading and why paint it white if you are going to cover it all in color. Were you trying to make more crisper dark lines? Were those lines black or paynes grey?

Thanks, great that you like it! Thank you for the questions. For the step by step Picasso DVD (on AMAZON goo.gl/SWj93h ) , I had to reinvent the Picassos painting process, to make it work for oil and acrylics (has taken me 5 reproductions ) . If you take on the adventure to paint it, use oil. Picassos painting have a messy quality. Most students painting with acrylic get it to crisp. About the fading substance, is less about color than about structure. It is emulate the surface structure that Picasso is achieving with layers of repainting (the original has a piece of wall paper in it). The outlines should fluctuate in color to achieve vibrancy. Hope I could support you, Picasso is less technique than a experience, try it out!

Thanks for the quick response. Do you do digital downloads? It's so much easier to watch on a tablet than putting in a DVD and watching it on tv when trying to paint. I stopped buying art dvds because you get to many to try and rewatch with ease and it's so much easier on the iPad. I was really interested in the Van Gogh methods but love Picasso's style as well. I also have your book coming this week, can't wait to read. My biggest realization on my art journey is that I can't skip the knowledge of drawing well to paint well. I thought I could just pick up a brush and paint without learning the basics and when I read that Van Gogh studied those techniques it made me realize he wasn't just lucky.

Yes, it’s a good idea; artists prefer to watch it on a tablets during painting. I am making the videos also available on AMAZON DIRECT so you can stream it and with the AMAZON PRIME VIDEO APP also download it. Van Gogh goo.gl/F3aa5k and Manet goo.gl/XjFwqJ are already available and right now on discount to encourage artists for streaming. Picasso is coming soon! You are right, Van Gogh style is just outstanding and you can try it also without the academic knowhow. I have put effort to remodel the methods so artists can focus on the practical joy of painting (with deeper knowhow I will support painters in Workbooks, on which I am working right now) It’s great that you came to the conclusion of supporting your art journey trough knowledge of drawing. I hope the book will support your development (in this PDF are the blueprints of the book, so you can print it out bigger to get better results goo.gl/GGY6Ga )

www.bargue.com is a dead link. I think it should be bargue.net. It's a wonderful painting, and I enjoyed watching it come together, but I don't think I learned anything. The 1st 70% of the video is copying a sketch and doing an advanced paint by numbers. With a sketch in hand, I suppose I could replicate your work, but I have little to go on for doing my own. How did you arrive at the drawing?
@nuartis7 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is a Speedpainting Video for entertainment, but thank you for trying to use it as learning material Excellent observation! link patched www.picasso.bargue.net (You will find there a free PDF which is better suited as learning material. )

Would this method work with watercolor?
@nuartis7 жыл бұрын
Good question. Water color alone would not have the same effect but mix media like in the painting Man with a Guitar from Pablo Picasso around 1915-16. It was using watercolor, gouache, resin, and graphite on white wove paper. Thank you for likening and sharing the video and experiment with watercolor anyway :-)

Where is the free PDF? Actually, the video itself isn’t that helpful. You can’t see much during the drawing phase. Also, a link to the original would be useful.

i thought picasso was supposed to look like a jumbled up version of what he was painting, this looks like a sailboat painting close to a shoreline with a house. everything looks like what it is

This is not really how Picasso painted. His strategy was watching an object and walking around it to change the angle while he was painting.

Good knowledge, YES this efficiency modified method is for novice in my art retreats so I can give 100% money back guarantee for satisfying Picasso outcome. Just imagine traveling to south France and being frustrated.... For advance like you is a chapter in the online course, guiding through the original metamorphosing Picasso method. Hope you like it and it can expend your good knowledge
