Today I painted a Dark Eldar army for Warhammer 40k. Originally I had a long time but due to delays I did this all in 3 DAYS for a battle with some friend's. Though we played 3 games and I lost all 3 it was still a great feeling playing with a fully painted army for the first time.
Here is a list of paints used if you wish to follow along at home, all paints can be found in the citadel range.
Paint list:
Abaddon black (all models basecoat and soul stones)
Stegadon scale green (drybrush)
Temple guard blue (drybrush)
Rackarth flesh (tabards flesh and guns)
Deepkin flesh (gun details)
Leadbelcher (shoulder pads and blades)
Balthazar gold (ram and floor of ship)
Moot green (runes and archon eyes)
Khorne red (plumes)
Agrax earthshade (wash)
Nuln oil (wash)
Blood for the blood god (blood effects)

My favorite part when he said "its brushing time" and then he brushed all over the place

Awesome paint job! Also if you, in the future, buy anymore ravagers, raiders or venom, I'd recommend also buying some 25mm bases to slap the kabelites and the witches onto. You should have enough options on the kabelite sprew and the witch sprew (If you buy witches) to give them weapons. Have to save money where you can in this hobby.

An excellent video, thank you. I'm about to start a crusade with the Combat Patrol so this is very useful.

Very nice job! I wanna have as many armies as possible but Druhkari are so intimidating with how detailed they are. But this way makes the prospect less daunting.

Awesome video!! Really impressive work!! I am currently building and painting this box too! How did you glue on the crew members for the vehicles at the end? Did you just use plastic glue? I would like to paint the the vehicles and crew members separately too but have never glued painted minis before will plastic glue work? Or will it mess up the paint ? Thanks again and all the best

Thanks! When gluing paint on paint plastic glue wont work, your best choice is usually super glue but since it will glue the paint together instead of the plastic the bond can be weak but since its crew it probably doesn't matter. Be careful not to use too much super glue as it can have a weird frosting effect around where you glued. Alternatively you can scrape the contact points back to clean plastic and use plastic glue.

Nice. Great work. From what I've heard, getting a second Combat Patrol isn't a bad idea, since you can always use more boats. I've been working on my own Drukhari for a while. Up until now, though, they've been the older 3rd ed models. Plastic Kabalites from the 3rd ed starter set, and some metal models (like the Archon, who needed a replacement weapon arm). Only now have I started working on the 10-man _modern_ Kabalite kit I've had in my pile of shame. They're a nice upgrade in sculpt quality. Though this also means there's tons of materials I hadn't had a need to determine colors for, like the loin cloths or pouches. (I've elected to do various shades of flesh color I had on hand, to look like different colors of people skin). My color scheme is a base prime of Rustoleum "Lagoon" (a satin bluish green color), followed by a drushbrush of Army Painter Royal Cloak. AP Alien Purple for most of the weapons, AP Warlock Purple for blades and hair and parts of the guns, and AP Demonic Yellow as a spot color for gems, eyes, and chains. For the uncovered heads, AP Mummy Robes, since I want them pale (a consequence of living in the Dark City). Almost half the squad has bare heads, since I ended up liking some of the sculpts a lot.

Thanks man! Alas they were absolutely destroyed in 3 out of 3 games. We have been discussing the rematch though...

Most people I know don't put metallics on a wet palette because of the flakes settling into the material under the paper. Are you not concerned about the flakes contaminating your colours in the future?

I have been doing so for many years and so far I haven't had any problems. I'm pretty sure Miniac covered this a while ago and said it was a myth. At least I don't see how the flakes themselves would actually seep through the paper since they are quite big, at least compares to the gaps in paper.

Second question, you built both vehicles as raiders. Any particular reason you didn't want to build one as a Ravager? I know they are fragile but they do have fire power.

At the time I was just a big fan of the ability to move the army around entirely in transports since I'd never played with them before, and it is pretty fun. (also when I built these dark lances and the other weapon option were kinda rubbish weapons so the power of the gunship version wasn't fully obvious)
