After counting the amount of pearls, he threw a total of 10 pearls, 6 of which spawned endermites. It's actually 1 in around 374,000. You forgot to multiply the chance by 10choose6 for every variation that 6 out of 10 can proc. What you calculated are the odds that one specific variation of 6 out of 10 occurred

that's not the way to calculate the probability, because there are different ways you can get 6 successes out of 10 tries, eg yyyyyynnnn is different from yynynyyynn, so you have to multiply your probability by the number of different outcomes with 6 out of 10 successes, which is 10C6 = 10*9*8*7/4/3/2 = 210. So the actual odds are 1 in (78,000,000 / 210) = 1 in 370,000

if you want to consider why you need to multiply by this extra number, consider tossing a coin twice and calculating the probability of one head and one tail. The possible outcomes are hh, ht, th, tt, and are all equally likely, but you notice that ht and th both satisfy having one head and one tail. So because there are 2 combinations of h and t, the probability is (0.5^1) * (0.5^1) * 2 combinations = 0.5, as opposed to 0.5 * 0.5 * 1 combination = 0.25 chance of two heads or two tails
