Which manual brake setup did you do? And what's the rest of your brake setup like? I've recently done the Honed kit with a 13/16" MC and stock brakes other than pads(ST43). It feels ok testing on the street so far but I have been thinking the pedal effort will be too high for threshold braking on track.

URGE / Essex AP front, RX8 + S197 rear with Carbotech XP20. Honed kit with OE 1" MC. Pedal effort is high, but the pedal is finally consistent and predictable. I will be trying the 13/16 as well.

@@trod-s2k Were you struggling with inconsistent "boost" on track as well? That was my reason for trying manual brakes, I couldn't find others experiencing the same! Oh wow you're still on the 1", I do think the smaller MC should make a noticeable difference in relieving effort too though it will have a little more travel, I'd love to hear your follow-up. I ended up using a RHD GD Fit/Jazz 13/16" MC, which looks just like the original S2000 one once you swap the reservoir over. IIRC it was also much cheaper than the one Honed specified, though I did need to buy and bend two short $7 hard lines from auto parts stores. I can send more details through DM somewhere if its helpful.

@@FCustureri yes, the booster is notoriously over-boosting the pedal on the S2k and leads to inconsistent feel and my brake performance was ultimately suffering. Not a lot of owners talk about it because not a lot of them realize what is happening. Would love to get the PN so I can try it out - have the one from Honed too but if you found something better that would be worth a shot.

@@trod-s2kSo I sent a small writeup reply an hour or so ago but it appears to have gone missing, maybe because I used links. Can I DM you somewhere?

How much hp do you gain after a polish head with cam.
@trod-s2k15 күн бұрын
@@setsuna_y can't really answer that as I don't have a solid baseline. The car was low on power prior to doing the work. My estimate is about 15-20whp but some of that can be from e85 by itself.
