Whatever that light bar is in the middle, it seems way brighter than the visor lights. Are the visor lights dimmer than standard caution lights?

The visor lights look great. I'm always leary of purchasing less expensive blue lights because they tend to be very light blue or purple. I have Whelen lights in my unmarked but could always use more. Trying to match the Whelen blue. This helps. I appreciate the video. Stay safe.

I have the same problem. any luck with a visor light matching whelen new blue.

@@nicksmith5145 not really. I picked up two small blue Fenix (fusion?) Lights to angle off the rear deck . Those are pretty close. They're small and not too expensive.

@@Whitesp44 yea I think it's because whelen put there engineers on it and standardized theres. I did find the original tripple threat by strobes n more does match but they again changed optics and the color now matches fenix more than that whelen color. I'm currently trying to get the reason for that out of there team. (like back in day the whelen lights had a aqua blue until they reengineered it back a few yrs ago)

@@nicksmith5145 how do you like the quality and performance of the Strobes n More lights? I've bought lights from them but not there own brand. I remember the older Whelen's. I have a box full LOL.

How is performance with these speed techs? I’m a volunteer on a budget but I’ve heard mixed reviews on these. What are your thoughts?

I have zero complaints about the light they produce, SAE class 1 certified so they arent some cheap light thats on Amazon. They move traffic quite well, very bright and noticeable even during daylight with heavy sun. The only issue is mounting, I had to chop one of the universal brackets to make it smaller so it would fit in the Silverado. To me it wasn't a big deal having the knowledge and tools to make it work. Now with my 2015 Silverado I ordered the 2015 Tahoe brackets to properly fit.

What kind of truck do you have those in? Seems like the middle light is brighter than the visor lights.

I'm looking at getting a STL visor bar for my crown Vic and am wondering if you know the difference between the linear one and the non-linear one. The linear one seems to be a bit more money but not much more. Thanks!

The Linear puts out more light and is brighter during the daytime. However, I found this out. Linear although being brighter does not cut through Window Tint like TIR can. On my silverado I have the front obviously linear but the traffic advisor TIR. I dont know if you can tell but I can. TIR cuts through window tint better than Linear does. For me, im cutting though a aftermarket window tint in the front and I should have went with TIR.

Tir throws more light forward but is not as visible from angles. Linear is brighter from angles but not as bright as a tir is straight ahead.

Got mine coming in with the new super takedown, how exactly is the power wires ran? Mine will connect to a Grandirect control box from STL. Is it hardwired somewhere?

No hardwired to battery, comes with 12v plug that runs from control box to 12v.

Which set from STL did you purchase here? I am very surprised you are able to run blues legally. I am not sure what state you are in but blues are restricted to police only in most states. One thing I find interesting when buying from STL you need no credentials to purchase police equipment. eBay will not even allow blues to be sold, Galls requires credentials to order many things from them. I am a LEO and about to outfit a Dodge Charger for use in the field. I have narrowed my search down to STL at this point about to place my order for several things any time now ($1700,00) worth to obtain what I need to begin duty. FYI to viewers the Raptor TIR is what is recommended for windshield bars because of the factory tinted strip on the front windshield. The TIR’s are also recommended for the rear windows especially if your windows are tinted. This bar here is the Linear bar but it’s very important to know the difference between the TIR versions and Linear versions. Do your research before purchase to get the right equipment. It will save you a lot of time, money and the difference of a refund compared to in store credit in a short 7 day return window from STL.

I am in NY and we can run Blue for volunteer fire. Those are the Raptor Visor lights, I will say if you have heavy window tint or any get TIR it cuts though it better than Linear does. I have been very happy with STL, it aint no Wheelen or Federal but it does what I need it to do at a reasonable coat.

TractorGuyZ71 Are they truly bright in day and night time use? What’s the down side? This is very important and what causes me to hesitate. There has to be a catch somewhere with any product when the difference in cost is so much. A Whelen bar like this one would be every bit of $1000+ so I am curious to where the short cut is made you know? You have used yours for a year or so now so you are a good person to ask. Would you buy it again? Do you recommend the product? In your opinion why do you think it’s $700 - $800 cheaper than a Whelen model? Any help is appreciated.
