The problem is that the i8 was misunderstood by influencers thinking that it was a supercar or an M product. It was a design study / proof of concept by making a niche sporty hybrid. It had double the hp of a Prius but twice the efficiency of an E90 M3.

I have one and it’s a fantastic car, it may not be a super car despite its looks but it’s still sporty, comfortable sleek and very fuel efficient. It’s a great daily drive if you want it to be. Its design has also aged very well overall. I hate that people trash on the car just because of its performance, it’s not intended to be an M car. It’s unique and its own thing
