Would like to replace the harness in my '77 Big10, but not sure if I should use the 12 or 22 circuit. Don't have power windows, power locks, AC or CB radio. Not even a dome light, but would like to have the option to add one. The 22 circuit has a lot of extras and is only $10 more than the 12, so I'm leaning towards the 22. I'm totally new to all this and looking for suggestions, questions and answers. Thank you for the great video-tutorial. Cheers

Thanks for watching and for taking the time to ask a question! I think that you can't go wrong with the 12 circuit, but that if you did get the 22 circuit you'd be able to add more accessories later on. I'd probably go with the 22 if I was building that '77.

Hello, Great Video. I have a problem maybe you can help. I just bought a Amc Jeep 290 304 360 390 401 Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run Distributor. No Instructions. I don't want to wiring it wrong . Sure I think I know how to do it . But i'd rather be right than wrong. Gray Tach wire . Black ground anywhere I suppose Block . Red positive coil with my hot Ignition wire . Orange must go to the Negative side of coil ? I've looked all over there website No wiring instructions .
@BadHombreGarage
@BadHombreGarage 9 ай бұрын
That all looks right to me. I agree, orange wire to negative side of the coil. Just make sure you have good grounds… block grounded to the frame, body grounded to the frame, battery grounded to the frame…

Hombre, on your 12 circuit harness, did the ignition switch power wire branch into two? I can't make sense of that. Where does the extra wire go on the ignition switch?
@BadHombreGarage
@BadHombreGarage 4 ай бұрын
Well, I just spent the last 30 minutes going through my wiring paperwork and laying under the dash of my car to see if I could help you out. Unfortunately, I can’t see where that wire branches. Does yours branch close to the ignition switch? Is it the wire labeled “33 Ignition Switch Power”?

What did you do for a Reverse light wire? I cannot believe this harness is missing this.
@BadHombreGarage
@BadHombreGarage 2 жыл бұрын
Great question! I do not have one. I believe that if you were connecting to an existing reverse light switch in your factory column or in the transmission, it would be pretty easy. But, yes you are right- they should have one!

@@BadHombreGarage Yeah it's crazy. Even the $35 and $50 harness' on amazon include this. I have to have them even on my Old arse Jeep cj5 for safety inspection. I never got a reply from Speedway about this when I found it out last week when I started wiring it up. I guess I'll have to use the 3rd brake light wire they included in the kit and figure out how to wire it. Also What Blinker relay did you use? My 22 circuit kit didn't include it. I don't know if mine was a opend return or what.. Instructions and picture says it was supposed to come with it. I'm really trying to not let the hiccups let me down. But Some other guys on the Early Jeep forums used the bare bones $50 cheapo harness without any issues. I had to go all out and spend $175 more on this thing.... :/
@BadHombreGarage
@BadHombreGarage 2 жыл бұрын
@@bryco32 I had to use a 3 prong flasher to make the turn signals work. I used a cheapie turn signal unit, like the $13 kind you can get on Amazon. It won’t work with the 2, 2 prong flashers that usually come with the kit. In my old Jeep (‘64 CJ5), the turn signal switch looks about the same, so I imagine it would work the same. By the way, I’ve emailed speedway several times and have never heard back from them. I have had good luck with their phone line.

Hey awesome video. I have this same kit and only have power on half of the fuse block. Any ideas why this might be? I have double and triple checked everything. It's driving me absolutely crazy.
@BadHombreGarage
@BadHombreGarage Жыл бұрын
Hmmm, there’s a chance the fuse block is messed up, like a break in the common bus inside of it. I would just make sure the main power wire (the fusable link wire) is connected right, and if so then I’d bet the fuse block is messed up in the inside.
@BadHombreGarage
@BadHombreGarage Жыл бұрын
Did you figure it out? I was messing with my car yesterday and thought of something really simple. Is the key on? With the key turned off only about half of the fuse block has power, and when I turn the key on they all have power. I know, maybe too simple but it had me going for a few minutes while I was checking fuses.
