Man if there's ONE good thing that came out of 2020 and was cemented once again, it's that Speedy J came out and reclaimed the Techno throne from the entire world. This man is untouchable in terms of versatility, improvisation, groove, technicality, all of the above. He is still as powerful as he was in the 90's or early 2000's, even after decades of changes in the scene, sound, what's hot and what's not. Speedy J is truly a force to be reckoned with and I feel extremely lucky to have shared my time on this Earth with such a presence. What a faascinating human.

About 17 years ago, Speedy J and Chris Liebing played together in Melbourne for very first time in front of only couple of hundred people as techno scene in Melbourne was very small back then. However, of corse they played solid techno set and when the show was over we had a time to have a chat with him and he was saying to everyone. “Thank you so much for enjoying our music” He is a legend.

Watch Amelie Lens and then watch this. This is techno - hypnotic, funky, mechanical, based around a relentless groove, mixed on multiple decks to create new sounds and layers. Amelie is borderline bad hard trance with too many breakdowns and cheesy sounds mixed blandly.

I understand ur point of view, but i dont agree. Amelie set is well mixed with songs from proper techno artists (I didn't find hard trance, or my ears are so used to it that i don't ear it anymore). The breakdowns come from the songs she chose. Of course when you have a dj doing a set with his own music you get "mixed on multiple decks to create new sounds and layers". For me Amelie set is a good djset, speedy dj set is a good liveset

2020 est retour du maitre en la matière , enfin , fait plusieurs soirée entre lui , ralpphie dee, manu le malin ect... rien a voir avec les soirées actuelle que du bonheur a écouté . En terme de mix pure il est très largement au dessus de tous le monde actuel des dj. Il a une façon de mélangé les sons très riche et cohérente ce qui donne une vie et une couleur musical a sont mix , rien a voir avec les mix fade et sans vie qui tourne très souvent a l'heure actuel
