This was so far over my head, I was watching 4 link off road stuff, and this came up. Thank you for explaining this kind of setup, I'm sure your competitors appreciate setup hints and tricks. I try to stay in my lane( welding and fabricating the cheap 4x4 stuff) but its always cool to learn something new

Ryan thanks for watching! I try to break down the complexity of these cars as best I can for racers of dirt late models and those intrigued by it as well. There is a good bit going on in the rear end of these cars that works asymmetrical from left to right. This is where the turning capabilities while on throttle is able to be achieved with huge traction. Check out the rest of my tech videos you will find them intriguing as well.

@DirtTrackDave
@DirtTrackDave 5 жыл бұрын
wicked toyz treat it similar to the 4 link in videos if on dirt. Use the Average angles of the of the 4 bars on each side for a starting point for 3 link. The 3ed link on rear end more angle more anti squat.

Would really enjoy seeing a video on explaining the function and adjustments for the 6th and 5th coil stuff to get a better understanding of how it affects the car. Also would like some more information on what to adjust for the racetrack not with just one corner but the car as a whole. We have fought a push with new car since we got it and finally figured out the push and getting through the corners but I know theres still lots of speed to be found

Can you do a video showing what each rod will do and how much change it changes for example you need an extra inch on the right to loosen up the car move this bar, or to tighten up the car on exit move this bar one hole, for us new guys this 4 link stuff is new and where do we get the program you have on your computer to learn the angles and such.

Do you adjust both top and bottom at the same time or are you working one or the other in those canareals.
@DirtTrackDave
@DirtTrackDave Жыл бұрын
I normally only adjust RR upper and LR lower. In situations when the LR upper exceeded 45-47 degrees in droop I drop it to maintain 45* and lower. The RR lower I rarely change only reason I would make a RR lower bar change is track type. Like paperclip style track or momentum style tracks demand different lower angles.
