Shawn, thanks for the very informative video on AS3X/SAFE gain. Unfortunately you left the viewers out by not demonstrating the transmitter setup with regard to channels and switch/knob configuration. On my DX9 I went into FUNCTION LIST > SYSTEM SETUP > YES > CHANNEL ASSIGN then selected Aux2 for AS3X Gain on the RKnb and Aux3 for SAFE Gain on the RLv. Both of those channels were unused and defaulted to INH. After that I went into FORWARD PROGRAMMING > GYRO SETTINGS > SYSTEM SETUP > GAIN CHANNEL SELECT > then under AS3X@ Roll Aux 2, Pitch Aux 2, Yaw Aux 2, THEN under SAFE@ Roll Aux 3, Pitch Aux 3. That completed the configuration. I hope this helps.

Just got back into the rc air game I started with a blade cp 😖 had a couple of the umx planes crashed them all I figured if I kept hitting the ground I'd just stay there and moved on to scale trucks and crawlers but I'm back I'm the air thanks for making this video easy to follow. This technology sure would have saved me a lot of money when I fist started

I think you are meant to point the plane receiver in the direction of travel with cable connection end pointing to the tail. It’s for the telemetry. PD: love you videos

I've been enjoying the content! Glad I made it in time for the give away. I subscribed, is there anything else I need to do? Also, I have a video request for an AR636(a) rx. So I have a sport cub s with safe. I also have the original timber 1.5 with the AR636 with safe select. I really like the configuration of safe with the 3 position switch, instead of having safe select on a 2 position. I've started down the rabbit hole on rc groups learning how to do it, but I'd love if you could do a follow along tutorial on the computer with the steps and explaining it. I have the cable coming from HH, and I've downloaded the program. What do ya think? And ya, I found your channel by searching for specific things, so your video descriptions are working well, keep up the good work!

Hi there thank you for subscribing. When we get to 1000 we will have a video with all the info you need to know about the drawing . Yes I can do a video for the 636 using a 3 position switch. However with the factory settings you will only have safe on or off. . I will do a little demo on the 636 for you. You need to find the safe builder down load. I'm not that good at it. Finally figured out what I am missing. AS3X gains is not the issue. It's the SAFE gains I need to lower.

one time i turned the as3x gains off and flew in safe and tuned those gains seperatly

@@GRIFFINRCPLANES I didn't realize until a couple nights ago you needed to adjust the SAFE gains separately and you need/could to assign the knob to the SAFE/AS3X gains.

Is there another way to increase or decrease the throws in SAFE other than gains or rates?

In the flight log. Setting the signal to 30%, should the alarm be changed from inh to voice so it alerts the user or will it alert automatically?

If you don't change it from INH to VOICE or VOICE/VIBE, it won't alert you.

So i have a dx8e.. and i dont have forward programming apparently. So how does someone get the knob to adjust as3x and safe without the use of forward programming.. Kinda wishing i got the nx instead of the dx8e.

I have a Dx9 and don’t have forward programming either. 🧐 I’m thinking there might be a firmware update or maybe there is a special model profile to download from Eflite for models with AS3X?

Found this: “The receiver has to be bound and operating. Turn off the rx and Forward Programming disappears from the menu. It can also appear with receivers that don't support Forward Programming, but it absolutely won't appear if you don't have a receiver talking to the transmitter.”
