Well If the person buys a brand new rx that can have safe and as3x , he can still use it with a gyro included in the plane. The stock rx is just a rx until you set it up in forward programming. So he could go to ways, stick with gyro in plane and use the spektrum rx or he can pull the stock gyro and setup his new rx so he can have gyro settings like safe and as3x

This is true with the newer Spektrum rx but the older stuff had no way to turn the gyro off without a program cable.

Yes until you start the FWP but why waste the money if the plane has a stock gyro/ Just use a simple receiver that costs under$20.

I've been sold on the Lemon receivers for some time. If the plane has a gyro I use it with the standard $15 lemon Rx. With no gyro I'll go with the $34 lemon with gyro. Spectrum receivers are great but also greatly overpriced, in my opinion. Waiting for lemon to add self leveling back into their receivers as they had in some of their Gen 1 models.

Thanks for the informative vid. I may have asked this before but still unsure of the solution. I have a FMS plane (P-18 1300) with reflex and ESC installed. I have an NX6 and still want to receive flight pack voltage via telemetry. What is the most economical way to do this? options appear to be replace ESC with smart ESC (if able to remove existing ESC?) and a AR 620 or use a AR6610T and tap into the existing ESC power input lead to get the info? or fit an AR631 and remove reflex? What would be your solution or other suggestions. Thank you

Easiest and most streamlined would replace with a Smart ESC and the AR631. This will handel thrust reverse, telemtry and gyro function all with only needing the 6 channels from the ar631. However it will run about $90 for the receiver and i guess about the same for the ESC. Are you sure really want to spend that on a plane that costs about the same?

@@FatGuyFliesRC Hi, one other question if I may, If I use an AR6610T (which I can get here for about the same price as an AR620) I could use the voltage sensor lead that comes with it and tap it into the ESC lead, Right? If I did that, where would you place the 2 Antennae wires for best reception on that model do you think? Thank you

@@FatGuyFliesRC you are and I just want to clarify with you on the b25 I have installed a ar8360t spektrum and as far as I know there is no gyro already installed on this bird so I should be all good. I know this is a stupid question but I just want to clarify that?❓❓❓❓❓

I don't use Spekjunk, I use Radiomaster tx16s with ELRS.

If I were to start over I would probably go that route but I have over 120 planes all with Spektrum protocol rx in them. I really dont want o have to relearn a new transmitter.
