Poshta Design has a gorgeous array of 100% wool felt; it diecuts beautifully without needing to be stabilized. Rolls are 5" X 36", sized specifically for use in regular-sized diecut machines. Not affiliated, just a huge fan. PSA: Waste can be minimized by placing the end of the roll on your cutting plate (not pre-cutting) and then backing it out after cutting. I love all your videos, and this one was especially fun!

CRAFTERS: YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR MISSING NOT WATCHING THIS STITCHMAS SERIES with Dawn!!! I LOVE your videos!! I learn a lot but best of all you are hilarious 😆 💕. After all your roasting of yourself I’m still going to attempt your first version of the Christmas tree when I get my kit. LOL. I LOVE 💕 your finished tree! I won’t be able to video tape myself because I’m not as gracious as you. There will be *$&&** words involved. My husband was enjoying watching you. He said I’m hard headed too. I’m sorry, I hope I didn’t offend you!! I wonder how many of us will still make the tree like you did the first time?? I think I’ll combine both of your cards because I love them BOTH! I can’t leave stuff drying alone either. Funny huh!!!! 😂 I’m excited about following you for Stitchmas 2023!! 💕 🌲 🎁 🌟

This video was such fun to watch. I love your ornament and the card. So beautiful! I just kept wondering why you didn’t use hot glue. But that glue held in the end. Thanks for the very realistic video.

What a journey but it turned out gorgeous in the end! I said “oh no” a dozen times while watching but I laughed and had a smile. I use felt a lot, I like making felt ornaments for Christmas and I use hot glue with fine tip. It holds really well and dries instant. I don’t trust liquid paper glue to hold it together. Another alternative to hot glue is I have a glue made just for felt. It’s a liquid glue so needs time to dry. It’s advertised as felt glue. Hope that helps. I hope you will make more videos of Stitchmas. This one really was fun to watch 😄

Thank you so much for all of the tips! Oh do have hot glue and felt glue, so I will definitely try them. I was really determined to make it work with supplies that I thought most of us would readily have, at least for the first attempt. But will swap out the right tools for the right job next time! 😉

I wonder if you could have stitched through the gold borders to attach it together in the layers. An in one hole and out the next. Would add some decorative stitching as well. Beautiful cards and I would have stuck with it too!

Dawn, you totally crack me up! As you were struggling, I was thinking, “You need clamps…. reverse tweezers, binder clips, maybe some E6000 glue? Oooh, be careful Dawn, don’t get glue on the front of the felt!” Yeah, I would have been crazy enough to finish it too. Then figure out a way to make a few more…

Final results of the ornament looks great. I love it! I think I would have used the gold thread and sandwiched a hanger loop in the top and not used the die cut hanging loop. Card is beautiful. Thanks for keeping it real; so easy to identify with your crafting, as we all have issues as we craft. (can't wait for day 2!)

So beautiful and so fun)) The only thing I didn't understand is the purpose of lining the stitching parts perfectly in both details (front & back). If you stitch them individually)) and yep, hot glue would be much easier to work with))

Dawn, I'm really late to the game but love your ideas! I started stitching with tut spellbinders dies after Christmas last year and lucked on to the 2023 stitchmas after the holiday season. I would have struggled through just like you did and finished the ornament no matter what! But because you struggled, I don't have to! Thanks for the great ideas and the chuckles.

Thanks for leaving the realistic video. So many times I watch videos where they say that the project is so easy and takes only 5 minutes. So not true in my world. 30 minutes later and I have something that kinda sorta looks like the sample. We are always learning from ourselves and others. The projects were beauties. Just ordered my box. Can’t wait to craft along with you.

You totally cracked me up on this video. I have to have my ornaments finished on the back too. I think that I would have done the front an d the back and then put a piece of white chipboard in between with some double sided adhesive and glue. I get why you had to keep going. It becomes a challenge to make it work out how you want to!!

I love those Dawn! 😃 Those trees could be made into Angel ornaments too. They would make pretty dresses. Cut more pieces and turn them into wings and the ornament hanger circle could be the head. What do you think?

I think I would have cut some extra cardstock without the holes and traced over where they overlap. Then cut that bit out and adhered it before adding the back piece in order to get a flat surface to adhere the tree too. I don’t know if it would have worked and it would have made the ornament thicker so maybe that isn’t what you wanted. It might be fun too to add a piece of thread right from the top to the bottom of your ornament before glueing the pieces together so each section could swing a little bit. So many ways of using this die. First time that I have watched one of your tutorials. I loved your honesty and perseverance. I’ll be watching again.
