When I was in my early teens my mom gave me probably the most important Christmas present ever. It was a Radio Shack 65 in 1 Science Fair Electronic Project kit #201. I used it to build the AM Radio and at night when I was told to go to bed, I would turn it on put the lid on it. I would run the antenna up to the curtain rod on the window and then run the earpiece up to my pillow. I sleep on the earpiece in case mom and dad came in to see if it was asleep, hee hee they couldn't see the earpiece because I was sleeping on it. I used that electronics set to listen to and fall asleep to Radio Mystery Theater station. I loved listening to the creaking door open and close. That electronics set helped me be just a little curious about electronics. Later after graduating High School I joined the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician to work on all kinds of Aircraft. I went around the world four times and have stepped on every continent except Antarctica during my 20 years in the U.S. Navy. Mystery Theater and that electronics kit sure helped steer me in the right direction and a life full of adventure and intrigue. Thanks for sharing. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

I have a lookalike made in the 1980's by a nostalgia company and it's got a cassette player and AM/FM and it is all dressed up to look like a 1930s/40s radio. I put old time radio shows on cassette into it and it's just like listening to them in the past. It introduced itself to me by giving me a nasty splinter under my thumbnail when i picked it up and I just can't bring myself to get rid of it even though I have dozens of other radios.

Hey guys 'n' girls listening from Liverpool land of The Beatles!! These stories are just out of sight!! The best thing i nearly ever did was think ooh i wonder what this Cbsrmt is 4 ish years ago and I've never heard a dud one yet!! That says a lot when I've heard well over 150 as all u fellow addicts have too, of that I'm sure!! My fave actors are Robert Dryden with a bullet and close behind Fred Gwyne who as i never realised is an accomplished radio actor who must have learnt his trade on stage as he's so eloquent when needed to be!! Thank you Cbsrmt u really are 'dead boss!!'

I grew up listening to these with my dad. Amazing memories. Skip the first story. Just jump ahead to 45 minutes. It's not worth the first one. You'll be upset as I was for investing all that time with that terrible ending. If you enjoy these episodes like I do you know they are usually incredible. The acting and everything the voice acting is incredibly good in the first episode but the plot and the ending are just terrible.

"How you say... 'Obsession'?" The police chief says that. What an out of place and trite line! I shall translate the English word "obsession" into French: 'obsession." How you say... 'Obsession'?" The policeman uses that same trite tagline earlier and it's also a French word: imagination! Ha. "How you say" is right up there with "in my country" But you know I mean we've all been at a loss for a foreign vocabulary word. I say "como se dice a lot reaching for the right Spanish word. But I don't use that phrase when it's the same word in English!!!! By the way this is a great episode thank you for posting. Great series too. Give us a thumbs up if you love OTR like ol' Binyon!
