A concert pianist with an 80's Keytar in her hands. You don't see that every day. So cool. And so good to see her sense of humour on stage. Instead of two synchronised guitars, they synchronise a guitar & a Keytar instead. Sweeeeet!! How could any one not love these women.

Their salute to the arena rock bands of the '80's and then the music nerd, Miyako gets to play the NERD instrument, the KEYTAR!!!! She started the song (Final Countdown??) like Rick Wakeman or Keith Emerson (ELP)!!! I love Midori running in high heels on stage (lets see those male bands try that!!!!). Midori also gets to LHAO as Miyako lugs around that beast while they harmonize together. What ever talent that is insane for song writing, composing and arranging it is their relentless practice that drive them to insure everything is flawless when done LIVE. Here they had a ball (even Miyako lights up the stage with that smile) and really had a blast despite the sterile arena (less than 50% capacity, assigned seats, social distance, no yelling, shouting or screaming and only clapping allowed) yet they rocked it like the old arena band who played in front of rabid fans!!! Great reaction and one again they prove the genre label is useless for them as they can play anything they want and do it with flawless perfection.

If any other band had played a song in a similar vein, it most likely would have had me just shrugging my shoulders and/or yawning, but thanks to their exceptional songwriting skills, Lovebites are able to write songs I really do enjoy even in metal subgenres I otherwise dont't care about very much. While their Thrash Metal songs are my overall faves, I also second any suggestion of other songs by them.

LOVEBITES - Spellbound lyrics: Once upon a time, there was a girl with beautiful hair It was a breathtaking beauty, yes even for God Unforgiving love will make you blind to see calamity Approaching and already at your feet Until you're put under a curse No one comes closer No one is looking anymore Even plants, even birds, butterflies, trees and flowers No longer attractive Nobody know what was lost Even stars, even clouds, the sky and the sun and the moonlight People don't realize how badly their sins can hurt someone Should they be forgiven ? Or have they sinned for eternity ? Which one has hers ? One day her beautiful hair turned into demons Feared by everyone, she's left alone and avoided Unforgiving sins will bring you closer to your judgement day Leaving you with nothing left to say Until you are out of time No one comes closer No one is looking anymore Even plants, even birds, butterflies, trees and flowers No longer attractive Nobody know what was lost Even stars, even clouds, the sky and the sun and the moonlight People don't realize how badly their sins can hurt someone Should they be forgiven ? Or have they sinned for eternity ? Which one has hers ? No one comes closer No one is looking anymore Even plants, even birds, butterflies, trees and flowers No longer attractive Nobody know what was lost Even stars, even clouds, the sky and the sun and the moonlight No one comes closer No one is looking anymore Even plants, even birds, butterflies, trees and flowers No longer attractive Nobody know what was lost Even stars, even clouds, the sky and the sun and the moonlight In her last moment the blood from her nect came alive Asking for love and forgiveness Why have you come, Holy Pegasus ? God, is she free now ? ----- lyrics: asami music: Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)

I have to say that I prefer Miyako on guitar rather than keytar. And this is not on my top ten or even top 30 of their songs, but they ARE diverse and they keep paying homage to the great heavy metal of the 80s! But please, keep watching these 5 women - check out their thrashier songs like Break the Wall or Hammer of Wrath for some heavy sounds 😃 Some slower, more ballady songs would be Epilogue or Empty Daydream and even Edge of the World is slow (at least at first...)

but for this song, i would prefer her on keys, wether keyboard synth or keytar. That is the "trademark" of this song. And yes, this how's a band could be more diverse.
@PaleHorseShabuShabu3 жыл бұрын
I love the keys in this one. I'll always be happy to see Miyako flex her musical muscle; she can play a mean bass guitar, too. Still, my highlight is her being "reluctant" when the tech tries to hand her the keytar. I'm not sure what to recommend from LOVEBITES that isn't already recommended in other comments, so I'll recommend a group you two haven't seen yet. They're called Wagakki Band, "Wagakki" meaning "traditional Japanese instruments." Their music is a seamless blend of traditional Japanese instruments and vocals with guitar, bass guitar, modern drums, and on occasion, a piano. There's eight people in the band, two women and six men, and they're all spectacular musicians. I've seen people comment that they're as big in Japan as Babymetal and haven't seen anyone contradict that. Most people start off with the video for two songs tied together, "Homura" and "Atsuki No Ito," and indeed, it has nearly ten million views in one year and for good reason. The other song people start off with is their live cover of Evanescence's "Bring Me to Life" performed with an orchestra and Amy Lee. I'll leave links to both. Homura + Akatsuki No Ito kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqDRhZV6ebKMoNk Bring Me to Life kzbin.info/www/bejne/npyUeKePgJx1gK8 Damn, I typed more than I thought I would.

You want a slow Lovebites song? Try this one.... kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6rRn4t6m6qhpLs It's called Epilogue and it is a delicious power ballad. There's two songs in this video. The first one will melt your heart. The second one will melt your face! By the way Miyako, the lady on the keytar, was four months pregnant in this performance. We fully expect her new baby to grow up as a musical prodigy and, in twenty years time, be able to say to anyone, "You can't tell me anything about Metal. I was onstage performing in my first metal concert five months before I was even born!"

She sang it at her funeral.She's said the following about the song: "It's important for the song to cry. That it is reminiscent of grief while it can relieve a little. This song is {NAME REMOVED FOR PRIVACY}'s song. And it always will be. I only had her in mind when I sang it in, thinking that a small part of her is in it if you listen extra well." Well, it happens. People like different things. "Fine" is quite the understatement though. Their musicianship is at a crazy high level. This is a fun song, but they have far more impressive ones on a technical level. The lady playing the keyboard/keytar is usually acting as one of their two lead guitarists.
@ChrisPage683 жыл бұрын
You *can* help what you hear. Her voice is strong and powerful, but can also be delicate when needed. Her English diction has improved since the early days. It's not easy for a Japanese person to speak English like a native speaker - never mind sing.

I actually had the same reaction to Iron Maiden and Bruce Dickinson back in the 1980's. It is one of those sounds that grow slowly. It is because it is so different from what we are used to, but once you get used to it, it's great.
