Working on this deck was so much fun! Some cards I forgot to include in the honorable mentions were the Quarter Century collector's cards like Magicians of Bonds and Unity and Paladins of Bonds and Unity, as well as Chronicle Magician and Chronicle Sorceress, but none of those cards are very good anyways, so it's no big deal. I basically tried to smash as many pieces of archetypes built from the cards in Yami Yugi's deck together as possible in a way that still comes out coherent. One card that definitely helps tie things together is Super Soldier Synthesis, as it works with so many different combinations of monsters in the deck-- It works with Frequency & The Magician Girls or Summoned Skull, Buster Whelp and any of the numerous Level 7 DARKs, and Dragon Buster and any of the Level 7 LIGHTs, such as Gaia or Reflection of Endymion. Sadly the Buster Blader retrain isn't always treated as the original, so the old one turns out to be the better way to go. I was really happy to squeeze a couple Summoned Skulls into this deck, as they're some of my personal favorites from his gallery of monsters, although if Magi Magi Magician Gal ever DOES get a TCG release, she's taking the spot of Archfiend's Ascent in a HEARTBEAT. I can hardly wait to get the Jaden deck up, followed by the other protagonists. If anyone has any criticisms or ideas about the deck, feel free to direct them at me!

Have to say, you did extremely well with THAT Approach, this Deck looks like so much Fun to play. Also, if you Guys want or need more Ideas, how about Decks f or the Godcards, that push their potential to the absolute maximum, for the Pharao, Kaiba and Marik respectivly.

If requests are allowed, I'd love to see a deck profile themed around little Yugi with things like the Silents, Gandora, the Gadgets, and/or the Magnets, and maybe a Block Dragon thrown in to reference Block Man. Along with more Summoned Skull, of course, because why not. Or it could just be a fancy Shining Sarcophagus deck. I don't mind as long as little Yugi is getting the acknowledgement he deserves.

I honestly hate to be that guy, but I honestly think Yugi Muto (not Atem) would use a deck that combines the Shining Sarcophagus with the Toy archetypes. He also would use the Silent Swordsman/Magicisn cards.

It never occurred to me to use Buster dragon for my current yugi deck in Master Duel. His main cards would use XYZ, Link, fusion, and ritual but I had a hard time finding which synchro monster he would use. Now I guess he would go with a Buster blader archetype for his synchro summon. Good job on the video. I truly enjoyed it

@@whambamduel GX in general had a bad issues of dumping rivals. Chaz was arguably the best treated of them but He was used as a punching bag to hype up other characters. He got his moments of success but they were entirely removed from the main plot come the beginning of season 2 until arguably season 4 if season 4 even counts for him being connected to the main plot. Season 1 was Chaz or Zane as the main rival Season 2 was Aster who was under used Season 3 was Jesse who took more of the best friend role Season 4 really didn't have a rival

This is a great deck layout. Yugi is my favourite protagonist in the many yu gi oh series and I love the way his deck is so diverse. I would've prefered the magnet warriors to the endemions to be honest, as they were my favourite trio he ran and used them to defeat the egyptian gods, but I think you're right that he would at least try the endemions, its totally his style. The bigger thing missing is his really powerful spell and trap cards with were replaced by support for his boss monsters. Cards like Mirror Force, Swords of Revealing Light, Card of Sanctity, Magic Cylinder, Monster Reborn, Card Destruction. Some cards I can see cutting, like Magical Hats, but the idea behind his deck of combing his spells with his monsters to overcome the odds was a big part of the drama in his duels. He was a smart guy and insanely lucky so I feel like he would still want cards like Double Spell to regain tempo and some i win the game card that he's building towards, like the Difusion Wave Motion he used against Kaiba in battle city or Ragnarok that he used against Marik. He is adaptive but totally has a game plan he builds towards, even creating infinfite loops from time to time.

@@DKdusk more characters are on the way The unfortunate thing about the Illusion/chimera archetype is that they just don't have much synergy with Yugi's other archetypes. Also, considering how their decks were portrayed in the Manga, the Illusion series is definitely more of Pegasus' thing for when he gets more serious after Toon World is destroyed. I could easily see Pegasus playing Illusions along with cards like Relinquished and Thousand-Eyes restrict

I like to think that in a Duel Monster Remake Yugi keeps around 20 decks, each with it's own iconic archetype, and that's why people can't beat him, he's too flexible and prepared to play with any deck he gets his hand on.

I think that he'd use Magician of Chaos and Magician of Black Chaos MAX as well as the 4 Skilled Magicians and Summoned Skull's Synchro, Fusion, and Ritual Forms(using Contract with the Abyss for all his Dark Attribute Ritual Monsters to avoid going too much), and Mahad and Mana as well.

Pretty sure everyone's said this, but I still feel like saying it too. Sorry to be this kind of complainer, but Pot of Greed should not be in the ban list. It was better off as a limited 1. It just lets you draw 2 cards. It doesn't always help. I should know. I've used Pot of Greed multiple times, and even when I get cards that help, I've lost more duels with it than i've won. It's not an overpowered card. It feels like they just did that because they wanted a change in duel flow, but it's just ridiculous. Talk about an overreaction.

Is their a yugi deck that could be made using all the summon methods. Synchro, Links, and XYZ. I always thought a way that they could bring even more fans into the show and introduce them to all the crazy gaming mechanics is to do a reboot series with similar story beats but have the show slowly bring in all the summoning method. Also givng Tea and Tristan dueling decks too

It's been decade o built modern Yugi deck and I love how Konami modernized old cards like Egyptian god etch I trying upgrade it and built countless deck design including joey and Kaiba 😅

Literally the thing I've been trying to do is to figure out which one of all of the archetypes Yugi spawned works together, I've been trying to synchronize every deck possible, the only one that has worked in my opinion is Boots up gadgets walking alongside shining sarcophagus if you use the battery trap card you can equip Trio Gadget activate the spell boot up order, you can summon Gadget Trio and begin The Shining sarcophagus play, other than that I'm trying to see all of these archetypes work together in some way, the goal isn't to be competitive but to make them work, some of these archetypes aren't even full on decks, Chimera and Buster Blader is an example

Oh trust me, it was no easy feat. I really wanted to include the new Chimera cards, but they just don't fit with Dark Magician, Gaia, Buster Blader, Black Luster Soldier, Face Card Knights, and Slifer in any easy way. On top of that, to play them, you gotta play Mirror Swordknight and Cornfield Coatl, which are just completely unrelated to anything else in the deck. As for the Gadget Support and Shining Sarcophagus, those would be better for a Solo Yugi Muto deck-- this deck aims to try to capture the spirit of Yami Yugi, which is to say both Yugi and Atem from before they separated in one modern deck.

@@whambamduel I'm not going to lie I have always preferred little Yugi's style of dueling then yami, that's why I really love The Shining sarcophagus cards, but even that they still having a hard time combining with any of the little Yugi cards, electromagnetic Warriors is something I'm trying to experiment with, but I really suck at the electromagnetic Warriors because I have no idea how to extend plays alongside shining sarcophagus, I'm considering running double summon in most of these decks

Battle traps are not nearly as good as they used to be-- the space in this deck is already extremely tight with all of the different archetypes and synergies I needed to squeeze in and there are still other cards that just couldn't make the cut.

I don't think Yugi's deck would be so bad, so, no. He'd probably use a Dark Magician core + 1 other archetype depending on the arc and that's it. Such as: DM + Gaia and Curse of Dragon at the start Next DM + Archefiend Summoned Skull Moving into DM + Buster Blader next Then DM + Black Luster Soldier Chaos deck Moving to DM + Ace of Spades Cards and Slyfer While the end would probably be DM + Shining Sarcophagus + a random Slyfer

If we had time to build a Yami Yugi deck for every one of his different archetypes, that'd be a good way to do it, but since we're already gonna have this deck as a Yami Yugi deck and a Yugi Muto deck later down the line, we did what worked best for the timing of things.

The new illusion monsters have next to no synergy with the Dark Magician archetype, especially the Chimera cards. I wanted to include them, but they simply had to take a backseat to all of Yami Yugi's better known archetypes that *can* have synergy with each other. Additionally, I personally associate the Illusion monsters, and especially the Nightmare series with Pegasus, as I think it'd be cool for Pegasus to face Yami Yugi with nightmare corruptions of his ace monsters when he's getting more serious after Toon World is destroyed. But even though the Illusion-type monsters didn't make it, we still have Magician of Dark Illusion, Aprrentice Illusion Magician, and Ebon Illusion Magician.
