Truly an incredible day. So much exciting momentum for Spelunky HD, and a genuine Low% Eggplant clear might be the cherry on top. It helps that this run was absolutely crazy as well! The Olmec fight took a while, but don't skip the whole thing, the last few minutes are ridiculous.

Care to explain why the door to hell opens without necronomicon?

Non-exit doors have code to ensure a door exists in a specific location. When a door gets deleted it gets recreated and by default doors are created unlocked. All floor tiles are stored in an array representing the level grid so tiles can easily be looked up by their coordinates. Doors are considered floors and also exist in this array. When olmec stomps and collides with something it will destroy the 5 tiles under olmec at the y coordinate where it collided. This doesn't have to be a push block, it can be any floor and it will destroy a door at the same y coordinate. If the hell door is one of the 5 tiles under olmec when he stomps, it will get deleted, and then replaced with an unlocked hell door.
