HD has quite a few things that make it harder than it would be when polished. The first example I can think of is the random spikes below you when you go down through the main path. You won't get such a thing in Spelunky 2. In fact most of the dwelling spikes are below bridges and stuff and almost all the remaining ones are always in the same kind of layout, so that you deal with them the exact same way every single time. There is a lot of design in 2 that makes it look harder than it is, and a lot of design in HD that makes it look easier than it is. Even then, 2 is still harder than HD.

9:55 each standard level (mine,jungle,ice,temple) has a 8bit music theme. The spawn of it is rare though. Not sure but arent they from classic spelunky? Never played that one though. As far as I know the A,B, and C theme of the level music is random and not linked to a certain event (snakes, spiders, rushing water etc)

I did the same i sometimes Just hsed the shortcut of the jungle to Go to the Castel or hear the dead are restless music (in the time i dint know english neither the música name Sorry for bad english im Brazilian)

Fun fact: spelunky on the switch is modified to be slightly easyer: more crates in the mines and also bloodchalice is achieved at 2damsels saved instead of 4 (8pt value instead of 16).
