Finally, a great Olmec run! Several close calls, but a lot of great reactions, and overall a damn good run. The mines were a bit slow compared to some of my fastest starts, and the Olmec battle got a little messy at the end, but overall it was very, very fast. Just think, though... if not for those things, this could have been right around 2:00 (or barely under.) Could I possibly actually get a sub-2:00 one day? Will I even try? Who knows! For now, though, this is a fantastic achievement. Thanks for watching!

Actually I played 1-1 almost perfectly, with the slight exception of hesitating for a split second before dropping down at one point. If you meant that the level was slow just because of the random generation making it long, then that's not necessarily the case either-13s isn't all that bad for a 1-1. Under 10s is better, but levels in between 10 and 15s are actually pretty common and quite acceptable.

Hi there maoyax! I'm not sure that I understand your question about the teleporter, but I think maybe you're asking me how I'm teleporting so far downward? It might be difficult due to the language barrier, but I'll try to explain it to you. On the XBLA version, the teleporter is 3-5 spaces down and 4-8 spaces in every other direction. On the PC version, it's 4-8 spaces in every direction, including down. This means you can teleport through thicker terrain, but it's also riskier.

It did not know!! In XBLA, it is hard to perform teleport downward!? When you exceed "the wall of the thickness 4" I thought "it is very reckless!!." However, all were the replies of conviction. I want Japanese players to increase in number more. Thank you!!

Strange, how do u get so lucky? I rank the teleporter as the most useless item in the game.... seeing as how EVERY time I use it I teleport into a wall and die instantly...

Jason Murray It actually works a pretty specific way. It's been a long time since I've played, but I believe that on the PC version, you will always teleport between 5 and 8 blocks. Also, if your destination block is solid, it will attempt to re-position you to a safe square by moving you up to three blocks vertically from the original destination, and if that is still unsafe, you end up in the wall and die. Knowing how the teleporter works and having layout knowledge both really help in preventing accidental deaths. However, when going fast you have to take risks, so you still often end up getting screwed by something. Anyway, the teleporter is awful for any purpose other than speedrunning. It's not worth taking for a normal playthrough.

+Bananasaurus Rex Interesting that you still answer comments on this video. The teleporter normally teleports you 4-8 tiles, but in some specific circumstances, you can get a 5-9 tile teleport. That happens when you teleport down directly after jumping, when you are spamming the teleporter and in some other cases. Talking about level reading, you once teleporter down in the temple where a lava pool was straight underneath, it's a small mistake and probably only 1/5 to die, but it was something I reacted to. One other thing that stood out to me was that you didn't teleport into the moai head, but I'm not sure if that strategy was even used when you got this run.

it is slightly random, but if you know how to use it, then you're good to go. It teleports you in the direction you're facing, 4-8 blocks. If it teleports you into a solid block, it will bring you up 3 or 4 blocks until your not in the blocks anymore. If you are still in a block after being brought up, you die.

He was holding a teleporter which allows you to teleport 4-8 blocks randomly in the direction you are holding the arrow key (with the exception of downwards; you cannot teleport down).

Ganked Mouse Look at the transition timer, it tells you how long he was in each level (since it doesn't count transitions) it looks like they did it fairly, the loading and screen transitions just add up after a while, since there was about as much loading as there was gameplay.
