I finally got that great Hell speed run that I've been looking for. And to think, if a couple of things had gone slightly differently, this run could have even been sub-5:00! That's just crazy to even think about.

Aye I know this is 4 years ago but, look at some of the most recent Any% world records, their use of the teleporter is borderline suicidal, this guy is good but...

Are you sure you're aware of how difficult the teleporter is to use? How risky it is? How much skill it takes to master it? It does the exact opposite of cheapening things. It makes the run far more interesting and adds a much-needed dynamic.

AGrayPhantom It is the World record! I did get an eggplant run to 5-3, and you can view it as a highlight on my twitch page. I've been holding off on making it public on KZbin because of a content ID match situation with the music I used in the video. I'm not sure what all the ins and outs of the permissions/licensing are, so I need to figure all of that out before I make it available.

Jared Jankola At least two people have, actually! This comment was made 3 months ago, and I completed and eggplant run shortly after making it. The full run is on my channel (it's my most viewed video.) Recently, a friend of mine named Pibonacci also completed one. One other guy has allegedly completed one, but has only pictures for evidence.

Olmec teleporter/jetpack speed runs are actually my main focus, but the item combination is so rare that I hardly get any shots at it. I've died right before the door to Olmec on a few runs, a couple of which would have been sub-2:10. The 1:3x times that you see on the leaderboards are hacked/cheated (or possibly bugged.) Anything under 2:30 can easily be disregarded without video evidence. It's possible to just barely squeeze out a sub-2:00 run, but it would be very, very difficult.

You can see the leaf pattern around the door of the black market peeking out of the ground a lot of the time. You could see the top of the door in this case.

You should have teleported into the Moai before dying. That way you could keep your teleporter.

+Timestoppa on KZbin You can't get to Hell without dying and resurrecting. A different item will spawn if you enter by another means. There IS a way to break the Moai head to die and then carry items in, but it's not for speedruns.

This is way late, but they're right. If you teleport into the Moai, you just get a diamond instead of the Hedjet and you can't get the hedjet even after killing yourself if you already got that diamond instead.

I placed a bomb there to open up that area in case the city of gold had spawned up there somewhere. That way, if when I checked the bottom right, the door still wasn't in sight, I could have quickly gone back up there and checked a little deeper into that area.

an eggplant run: you get a mystery present from the shopkeeper, which you then put on kali's altar which spawns an eggplant, you must then carry that to the yama fight where you throw the eggplant at his face and he turns into this purple thing, effectively instantly winning the fight.

There are leaves around the outside of the door. They stick out just over 1 block. Most people don't notice it when they're not speed running.
