Spencer is a third point guard, but the size of a 2 guard and can play defense. Perfect for playing next to Kyrie when Luka sits

He is a huge boost. That third ball-handler was 100% how the 2022 team was able to get to the WCF. For the first time in a long time, Luka shouldn’t have to carry the team for any significant stretch throughout the season. We have a lot of rotations to work with

He actually played good defense for the Lakers which was arguably his best attribute with them. If he can bring that with what he did with the Mavs offensively he will be a great pickup

No idea why people think Dinwiddie isn’t gonna play much. I think he will be first choice offensive guard off the bench, ahead of both Hardy and Exum. He brings an offensive punch that neither of them come close to bringing. He’s the only guy outside Luka, Kyrie and Klay who could reliably go on a decent stretch of giving you 20+ points during a run of games. He will find the same benefits coming back to the Mavs that he had when he was here, that did not exist on the Wizards, Nets or Lakers

Dinwiddie is going to get minutes. The 2 things the Mavs desperately needed in the Finals were better 3 point shooting and another guy who can get their own shot not named Luka or Kyrie. He's going to slot right back into the role as the 3rd ball handler like he was behind Brunson in 2022 but now it's Kyrie.

This analysis has me confused. Dinwiddie fills a glaring need on this roster (ball handling, bucket getter). We’ve seen him be the 3rd ball handler in Luka’s system before, fit was perfect. In what world is he the 15th man? Behind omax and Lawson? No offense but are y’all high?
