I'm in two fantasy baseball leagues, and I drafted Strider super early to ensure I got him in both of them MOSTLY because of his interview with you, talk about a guy who is knowledgeable about his craft, dedicated to that craft, and has all the talent in the world to back it up, and he also seems to take care of his body like a veteran pitcher.

I’ve noticed a small bias towards Strider, he’s very good but Ninja gives him filthiest pitcher every time he starts. Mackenzie Gore had more strikeouts, less earned runs and went deeper into the game, he definitely was the filthiest pitcher of the day, not co-filithiest.

It was a real treat to watch him pitch a flawless 10th to set up the W. We were right to trade away Soto cause Lange is the real deal. 🐯 Also found out that Liam Hendriks is rejoining the Sox today as well. Good on him 🎉

Saucedo's K to end the top of the 10th had to have been my filthiest pitch of the day... Bases loaded, top 10, two outs and on a 3-2 count throws what appears to either be a changeup or slider that was for sure a ball but got him chasing. That set up Geno's 3 run walk off homerun in the bottom 10.

How is Strider able to get such velocity?? His shorter frame and short arm action makes it look like the pitch isn't going to be very fast, and then he just dials up 99. It looks almost fake
@briansolo Жыл бұрын
It's all lower-body driven. He gets about 7 feet of, *ahem*, stride with every delivery, extending his release point by almost 2 feet compared to other pitchers his size. If you see him from the side, it's almost as if he's gliding away from the rubber when he pushes-off the rubber.

lol.. no one will ever pitch 326 innings in a single season again. That being said, Strider is on pace for over 300 Ks. I assume you're talking about the Ryan Express. I think he's top 10, maybe top 5 all time, given what he had to work with, but in the season to which you're referring, Nolan's K/9 was just under 11. Strider's is at *15* punchouts per 9 innings pitched. Maybe you should consider taking a look.

@ryanpoole6743 Жыл бұрын
So is he even on pace to break Ryan’s record I’m guessing no because he won’t make as many starts as Ryan did back then
@briansolo Жыл бұрын
It's not necessarily the number of starts, it's innings pitched and pitch counts. Nolan Ryan pitched 326 innings that season. No one will approach that again. Randy Johnson had only 11 fewer Ks in 53 fewer innings. That's insane. Strider is on pace to just eclipse 300, though.
