Every time this is brought up, the owner of Team Payne denies any sort of anti-bike warranty or anything even remotely mentioned that would cause a city to not allow bikes. This HAS to be a lie. The same thing happened at Winter Haven. Bikes were going to be allowed, more bike riders showed up than skaters for the meetings, and then about a week before, it was announced that bikes were banned. Luckily the public freakout on their FB page where they stated the change in rules was so bombed by negative feedback, they chose to let us in 2 days a week. Team Payne and parks that don't allow bikes have gone hand in hand for at least 25 years. Oddly, most parks made by other companies allow bikes no problem. Funny how that works.

We don't really have this problem in Australia although on a lot of safety signs at the parks say no pegs . Alot of parks are built by contractors that skate witch add to the problem. Public skateparks should be a safe and fun place for all. Even my most hated scooters.

Dude i am so glad that you are making video pointing out how absurd the no bikes allowed rules are. I traveled around the us for my bmx non-profit (Merakibmx) teachings kids bmx and pretty much every single skatepark i went to said no bikes allowed and there was one in Portland under a bridge that i tried to ride and i almost got jumped by 20 skaters saying that ill cause damage to the skatepark with my bike. So i really appreciate what you are doing and i hope that this video gets lots of views and can help make a change for literally almost every skatepark in the U.S lmao. Cheers!

Fun fact: Spencer kinda saved my park from banning bikes. My park got renovated and this entitled skater who helped build it tried to get the city to ban bikes, he actually had a solid argument pegs on a quarterpipe when you lean they do dig into the concrete, where as skate trucks sit on the coping. I dmed Spencer asking for any defence against that and he brought up primo landings. I never woulda thought of that and no one else was defending bikes. I went to a meeting with the city and skatepark committee, I made a short PowerPoint with photos of damage to the park. Told the city it’s a skatepark, it’s going to be damaged eventually, a BMX might damage a quarterpipe, a skateboard can chip the entire park, anywhere they land. When I showed the worst of the concrete damage was at the landing of a tiny flat rail no BMXer touches, the city agreed a BMX is no more risk to the park than a skateboard.

is so insane just how little park builders know. go to any skatepark and look at the base of the skaters main stair set my local skatepark's ONLY major repair was a 10x10 square of concrete at the base of the 3-block where skateboard WHEEL BOLTS chipped it to shreds, literally couldn't roll over that patch on a board.

I argued w/ the Recreation Director in my town about bikes too and I said "we don't have plastic pegs but if we did then bikes would NEVER damage a ramp" then 10 years later they made plastic pegs.... The park was already built but they got a prefab instead of a concrete park like I suggested but it's still cool.
