I have had to start to wear a hip fixation brace quite bulky but useful and comfortable but the velcro wasn't stopping in place brought these and some wide stiff elastic and made my own straps I've just been back to the hospital for a checkup to see how I'm getting on with it my consultant was very impressed with how I sewed them he said it was much better than the velcro as I came out of the consultation room another paitent asked both the nurse and consultant why my brace was better than there he said the lady made thes on her sewing machine they both took my number after asking what I'd charge for doing there's and one lady is visiting me on Monday to have hers done the consultant said I need to start a little sidelines. Two thigh straps and two waist hip straps they took approximately half to three quarters of an hour to make

i would like to thank you as i have had a bag with a broken strap for a good few years now, (what can i say? i procrastinate like a pro) and i finally decided to try to fix it. i couldnt use all of the tutorial as my bag goes through a triglide and a ring to make a single strap thingy. ive never made a bag before. its not something that ive ever and i do mean EVER done, so i dont know the terminology here, but i was able to fix it after watching this, and rewinding several times to understand a triglide. XD to be honest it wasnt as hard as id built it up to be in my head. but when you dont know how to do something or even what the thingy is called (turns out its called a triglide and if i say it enough in this post i might remember it, fingers crossed!) it seemed a bit daunting, plus a part of the triglide broke making me think it couldnt possibly be an easy fix... boy am i happy to be wrong!!! so thank you again!!! ^.^

Thanks! Do you recommend a cotton strap or a blend for the strap?
@SpencerOgg3 жыл бұрын
I personally always prefer cotton webbing as its firmer and non shiney. It seems to give a nicer finished product, but it is more expensive. If you are making sew to sell items then man-made webbing is probably the way to go.

Thanks for this video as well...big help!! Can you recommend how to go about getting the right length to use for a bum bag? I made one, but straps are so long, the first time, the straps were too short😊....thank you

Wrap the webbing around the person it is for and then add at least an extra 7 inches

@SpencerOgg2 жыл бұрын
Sew the loose ends into your project Kalavalli so you don't have any raw edges. You could also rivet on, but turn the ends under first so they don't fray

I have a problem with the lock buckle itself, its very loose so a light pull will release the buckle lock, how can i fix this? The ending of both sides are stitched so replacing wouldn't be recommended, is that correct?

You should be able to double back the webbing through the buckle again to make it a firmer hold
