How are you all doing? Come along and spend a weekend at the stables with me, we had no shows this weekend so it was nice to just spend some time at the yard with the ponies x

Will you be decorating your stables for Christmas? Just a side thought...Put some collapsable boxes in the back of your truck for the food shopping and put the bags in them....should fingers crossed it should stop the bags from falling over and your shopping going flying x

Hi Karen, I love watching you guys and love Lewis he is a star. He's funny with his one word answers. Your horses are beautiful, and I love horses so much and am unable to ride anymore😢. I was wondering if you and Lewis go hacking on gambler and doughnut together. That would be lovely to see mum and son enjoying a big hack out together. Edit- I must confess i wrote my message really early on in your vlog and wish I had waited to see what else you had planned. Doughnut handled that really really well. All your hard work with him has paid of. I love his tail with the darker stripe down the middle. It is always good have your grand children around wih the horses and they will learn to love them and want to ride as well. They are so lucky to have a gran or nan who loves them and willmone day be giving them lessons or uncle Lewis will😅. I really enjoyed this one take care and have a good safe week guys❤

Hello Wendy Thank you, one day I will secretly film Lewis as he can talk for Britain 😂 but as soon as the camera comes out he goes all shy 😂 Thank you, I’m so pleased we can still give you that horsey fix Yes I’m hoping it won’t be to long till we get gambler and donut hacking out together, Lewis will ride gambler and Steve will lead me to begin with Haha I will leave Lewis to teach the grandkids to ride first 😂 teaching kids is so hard, I taught all 3 of my kids to ride but there was many of arguments because they wouldn’t listed to me 😂 Take care xx

What a busy woman you are Karen!! Worn out watching you😅😅. What an absolute sweetie donut is. Such a good boy. He will fill out eventually...such a lovely boy..The girls a bit frisky getting used to thier new rugs..😂😂very smart. I have no idea why the dressage letters are laid out the way they are. But i dont know anything about dressage sadly. Would have loved to learn. 😢😢 you have a gem with Steve. Hope Lewis feels better very soon. Totally agree with the backing process. Slower the better...your doing a fantastic job.❤❤

IIRC it's when the horse's mid section (the girth basically) reaches the letter that you do whatever movement. I was told that when I was a teenager, it's probably something else now!

Not sure if it was French or Roman.
@Phillip-p1e
@Phillip-p1e 2 ай бұрын
@@michellestrickland7613 Dressage comes from the french word meaning 'to dress' they perfected it from the older discipline of equitation, the Romans actually thought it was quite dull ,they preferred the skill of all out chariot racing and then updated it when they went to war putting steel spikes on middle of their chariot to damage and bring down the enemies chariots.... Blood thirsty lot the Romans were...

Thanks for this one Karen and nearly an hour long , really enjoyed it .. . The mucking out wouldn't be boring I love doing it and seeing the end result an inviting deep bed with high banks , fresh hay in the manger and ftesh water,,,, are yours on rubber matting I find it helps them grip when they get up... Great news about Donuts brother coming 6th at HOYS , that bodes well for Donut in the future, has Gambler got any bros/ Sis ? ... The dressage markers came about from King Edward when his riding master would train the Kings soldiers getting them used to riding smaller circles, straight lines, halting over x snd so on,,, it spells out,,,, All King Edwards Horses Caused Many Bad Falls,,,,,, other countries use different letters according to their history.... Donut is looking willing I see his ears moving as if hes thinking Uuhm what does this that mean, it'll come together,, you're doing the right thing slow n sure... Clipping season is here,sent our blades off to be sharpened, our get a high blanket to start with then full next clip... .. Roo had his wolf teeth out today, he's happy again now he can feast on carrots,,,,, Mark sold his youngster last week he went to his new home today just half an hour away , they are good people with years of experience and knowledge so he'll be well cared for.... .. Thanks again,,,, till next time 👍

Thank you I love watching people muck out on KZbin but I didn’t think there would be many people that would enjoy it like I do 😂 No, none of mine are on rubber matting, I always wanted to put it in the stables but never had the money to do all the stables Ah bless Roo, he will feel so much better now for them having been removed That’s so nice that that you’ve found a lovely home for marks youngster and that there so close

I have a question? How come you have barbed wire in your pastures?? Horses and barbed wire don't go well together😱. Otherwise, I love your vidios but I have been thinking about this for a long time with your fence. 🙏❤️
@KarenBadrick1
@KarenBadrick1 Ай бұрын
I rent this yard and it came with the barbed wire, changing all the fencing is a cost down to me and it’s not cheap, We are changing it to post and rail as things need replacing But having worked at yards for years I have seen more injuries from post and rail and electric fencing then I have barbed wire I don’t think people realise just how deadly electric fencing is 😭
