I would add to the Ethiopian conversation that Ethiopia is the birth place of coffee, and is a huge part of the culture. The reason Italy is so associated with coffee is that they tried SO HARD to colonize Ethiopia, but instead they just kinda got a cultural exchange where Italy got coffee and Ethiopia got pasta 😂

I vote that this style of video becomes a series on this channel. DC has so many amazing coffee shops, bars, restaurants, etc. - it gives you an excuse to leave the house and us an excuse to watch you judge more things. Everyone would be happy. (Also, as someone who's from DC originally and comes back every year to see friends and family, I selfishly want to see what's considered cool and quality now around town.)

Ethiopia is where the coffee plant originated! Specifically the arabica coffee bean, which is a smoother milder blend versus the other species of coffee, Robusta. Ethiopian coffee is special because it's coffee grown in its natural environment and is also a precious and historical industry to the Ethiopians.

If you seriously want that you can try it yourself too. Though if your channel is small and unmonetized like mine, using a song that's allowed but not allowed to monetize might still be better.

I also love local coffee shops too and there is a little bit of a ‘tude’ some baristas cop when this gramma shows up. But I know what I’m talking about out. The sign outside our shop says 1901, but no it was 1904)) and the latte shop inside , “The Bean Counter” was opened in 2000. One of the things people seem to like about it is that it is a surprise to see. Locals love it because our coffee is good. Now I have an idea of what categories we can work on, thanks to your insightful and correct judgement. Wish you could come here (but we’re way the hell and gone across the country from you) and critique us. We would send you to The Baker’s Table bakery just up the street for treats. cafe rec that’s unlike any other in DC: big bear cafe 🩵 old building, outdoor seating on cobblestones with grapevines everywhere, the best people watching, I literally hear more languages there than anywhere else bc it attracts europeans bc the cafe feels european (myself included, dual citizen), great bird watching bc they want your crumbs, great dog watching, great for stealing fresh mint because they grow produce outside and the mint THRIVES, activities and live music during the week, and remember to check out the upstairs (where you’ll also find the cool bathroom) which is cozy as all get out. also in the winter they put little fires outside, and I will never forget the time I sat around the fire next to a stranger in silence during a light hail storm while everyone in the world was home staying warm listening to the ice hit the tarp above us while he read his book and I watched the steam rise from our drinks. it’s just a nice place to be.

The "lalalalala (s)" are a great part of the description and love it! Another great video. I appreciate the archetype categories you gave each shop :)
