I have lived in quite big cities my entire life and the older I get the more I have the need and the desire to live in a small town, preferably either a mountainy town or a beachy town that is small and doesn’t have a lot of traffic or people or chaos. I just don’t thrive in a big city, it makes me very overstimulated and crowded and just unhappy and I would like to have a home where there is peace and quiet and nature close by. So i totally feel your vibes and your aspirations to move.

I lived in Texas for my first 25 years of life, never felt any attachment to it and frankly found the heat insufferable. I moved to Colorado because my best friend was being relocated here with her family. Not a day goes by that I don’t marvel at the beautiful place this is. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend researching it, you’ll find it will focus more on the high cost of living. I visited for the first time over a weekend and I’m still mocked about how many times I said “the trees! the trees!”. Take a weekend to see it and enjoy the fresh air. You can stay with me (a good ‘ol internet stranger), or take a round trip into the mountains. Couldn’t possibly recommend it more.

I could see you living on the East or west coast, but I was already thinking about recommending Kentucky and then you showed your vibe and I really think you’d enjoy Kentucky or Tennessee. I’m from Indiana like 30 min from the Kentucky border and I always felt a certain type of way about Kentucky until my boyfriend moved to the red river gorge area and now we’re planning on moving to the Lexington/Georgetown area because I’ve fallen in love with it. Definitely check out Kentucky, there is beautiful scenery with the lush bluegrass and rolling hills, parks, trails, etc. There’s not a lot going on in the red river gorge area unless you’re a rock climber, but its only like an hour from Lexington, which I love, and you can go there for a hike or a weekend camp get away. Truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve been in the Midwest and you get all seasons. I could totally see you living in Tennessee as well, check out Chattanooga if you’ve never been there.
