Love the ideas and the cards. You are correct, we can go through our stash and find dies, stamps, etc, that will give us a certain look, that specific manufactured dies/stamps offer. I do have edging dies so I could recreate your look, but probably not as quickly or as professionally as you!! What an interesting idea! I've often tried making "new" paper by gluing strips of scraps on a sheet, but using these border dies together is inspired! As for buying freezes.... well, I started out January with that in mind, but I guess I need to be a little firmer with myself. Another wonderful crafter I follow on You Tube (Posh Paper Lady) occasionally offers "Mystery Boxes" when she cleans out her craft room. She does a lot more than just card making, so her Mystery Boxes are astonishing. I couldn't pass one up. My head is spinning with all the wonderful stuff she sent, so now I really, really, honestly, truly am on a freeze--- because I have no idea where I'm going to put all this new stuff!

I have plenty of border dies and I have never considered using them this way. I did see the release from PPP and the heart dies caught my eye. This is an excellent reproduction/inspiration for that die set. You just saved me $28! AND, you are correct when you said you could use any shape whereas the die set limits you to hearts. So far, I haven’t spent anything on craft supplies this year and thanks to you I’m still on that streak! Thanks Natalie for all you do.

I especially like the hello card. I'm on a craft spending freeze myself. If not for the items I get free to review, I wouldn't have nearly as much to work with. I get inspired from your videos and they get me thinking of doing things a different way and you don't have to buy all the many things some of the teachers do from paper, inks, stamps, dies, etc., etc. Just because you make something with a butterfly stamp doesn't mean we need to go find and buy that butterfly. I doubt that most card makers don't have at least one butterfly or more in their stash so even if they aren't making something identical, they are making something with the spirit of the card you show. Thanks a lot! Hope you are feeling better from your fall. My 42 year old son slipped on the ice today and was calling for advice (I am a retired nurse).

@ Doing fine. He is autistic and tends to overplay what is going on with him physically. But I could tell by the way he was talking it didn't seem he had broken a rib or did anything to his heart. He was happy to find that the delivery making he was doing, she uped his tip $5 :)

Your cards are lovely! I have seen the manufacturers die set and I think your version is wonderful! I have been crafting 40+ years, and it originated with recycling/upcycling before those words were even a "thing". Back then, your value of a purchase was based on how long it lasted and how many different uses it offered. When new technology was introduced and constantly upgraded (mobiles, laptops, etc.), I think it changed the market for everything (clothes, cars, crafts, etc.) Now a lot of people see the value of a purchase by how new it is and by what niche purpose it serves. Thank you for promoting alternatives. It allows everyone to enjoy creating, regardless of budget! 🩷

Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to try this with my patterned paper scraps. The various edges will be a nice change from simply butting straight-edged scrap strips against one another and using as a card base! On a separate note: how goes the atrium reno at your home?
