As a former member of the Vocal Majority, Sonny, this is some of the "sweetest" blend I've ever heard. Great work!!

Wow this is amazing! The mixing on this is truly great! I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Thank god you DONT over edit the sound quality. You’ve simply mastered the mixing! You’re the only KZbinr who doesn’t edit it to sound unrealistic. Thank you my friend :)

I find the mixing part to be one of the hardest parts of the entire operation! So getting a compliment on that aspect, does make me really happy :D. Thanks so much for the kind words, William!

The blend of the two voices is wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable. Rhett has a nice baritone voice. He is not a bass by any means. Jerome Hines is a bass: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3XXi6ekpLWLi5o

Ok you are straight up amazing! Any tips for someone starting out singing?
@sgtsonny7 жыл бұрын
I know it'll probably sound like lame tip, but from a technique point of view the best tip I can give you is: RELAX!! 100% of my students just get in the way of their own potential by trying to hard. I'm not saying don't put in a massive amount of hours (practising, researching, recording, evaluating,...) but when you're actually singing, just trust you body and let the sound happen instead of forcing anything out. From a performer's point of view: again stop making it too hard on yourself. When you're in your room you can think about technique, breathing, support, relaxation, larynx placement,... But you need to let go of all of that once you hit the stage. Just be very present in the moment and in the delivery of your song. Trust that your body will remember all the technique for which you've worked so hard and tell the story from the heart! Move your audience!
@shaneb15047 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tip! I'll try it out because I'm always a bit stressed out when I can't hit a note 😄
@sgtsonny7 жыл бұрын
It's either out of your range of your working against yourself. I could try my whole life, I'll never hit a A1 EVER! It's just not in my register. I can hit a C5 in my chest voice though, but ONLY if I'm completely warmed up, properly aligned and relaxed to hit it! If I start thinking 'here it comes, I better hit it this time! I'm gonna give it everything I got', I'm probably already tensing up just thinking about hitting it. Then the muscle tension will make it so much harder for me to actually hit it the way I can. A GREAT book on exactly this issue is 'The inner game of music'. I can highly recommend it!

Sonny Vande Putte and I have one last question. How do I stop my high notes / head voice from sounding airy and weak? Also how do you not have more subscribers? This channel is full of quality content that deserves recognition!
@sgtsonny7 жыл бұрын
Too much air on your head voice can have a couple of causes. It might be because you're taking in too much air before you start singing. The body can't hold that much air, so it escapes while you're singing. It could be that you vocal fold don't properly close even when you're singing in your chest voice, but maybe you only really notice it when you're singing in head voice. I'm afraid I can't really give you a full proof answer on that one without actually working with you. Thanks so much for the kind words again, man! I really appreciate it :)
