make sure ur milk goes to like just under where the dip in the pouring bit is, maybe even get a smaller jug if need be. in my old cafe we used to use a big jug for two and a small one for one. && the milk should make the sound of like ripping paper as its frothing and like someone else said when its unbearable to touch it should be ready! then tap the jug on the counter so the bubbles go away and swirl it so you don’t get all the froth at the end. and pour in a circular motion rather than in one spot! i watched so many youtube videos when i was first a barista ahahha

i was a barista at my uni bar! some alternative milks don't froth well so try and use the barista versions of those milks & honestly practice makes perfect!

I work at a coffee shop, and in the process of being barista trained! I was told that if you want really frothy milk, like for a cappuccino, you place the tip of the milk nozzle just under the top of the milk, like where the bit you pour out of the jug stops (im so sorry i dint know what it's called). And if you tilt the jug at an angle, and wait until the milk makes a 'kissing sound ' . Then you can move the nozzle further into the milk jug, to add more air in. And then when the jug gets too hot to touch/ makes a screeching sound, that's when your milk is done! And for coffee art/ frothy milk, tilt your bug towards you when pouring the mug and pour the milk at the edge of the cup and it should be more frothy!! I'm not n expert but this is what works for me :)

If you keep ur hand on the metal jug when frothing and take it off/ just as it becomes unbearable to touch it should be the perfect temperature
