Girl, it will be the most rewarding hardest job of your life. Babies are so great to have but that fourth trimester hits hard sometimes. Just be prepared to not feel prepared. People always talk about how wonderful it is but just know there are so many difficult parts to it. You won’t always feel like you’re doing the best thing but just remember that YOU are the best mama for that baby. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and take time for yourself. My baby turned 25 years old today. I can remember the day she was born like it was yesterday. There is nothing better than becoming a mom. There will be frustrating days for sure. My father passed away in 2010 and I just gave birth to my daughter Aug 2020. I also keep thinking about how my father would be around her and what she would call him. as soon as you mentioned how unfair it was for your father to not be there for this next chapter in your life, I broke down. Im literally crying as I type this because that is exactly how I felt and still feel now being in another country doing my grad school degree. He wasn't there for any of my college graduations, my acceptance letters, my awards...none of it. He also passed incredibly young from cancer, just as your father did, and its still traumatizing, going on eight years now. It's hard not to feel like an imposter knowing that he's not here to call and talk about any of it with me. I am going to be more patient and loving towards my family, my mom has a chronic illness that almost took her life when I was in high school 6 years ago and she is still fighting for her life everyday. i actually started watching you bc my father was diagnosed with lung cancer in May of 2020 but bc of covid i wasnt able to see him more than once before he passed a few months later. I understand how you're feeling bc all i can think about is how my dad wont be here to meet his future grandchildren or walk me down the aisle. the only thing that keeps me from going too crazy is that i know he loved my boyfriend/fiance and that honestly means the world to me
