The Middle East is my absolute favorite region in the world for many reasons, but none more than the hospitality. I actually never knew that people could be so friendly until I ventured off into the mountains of Afghanistan, the valleys of Yemen, the villages of Syria and the small boutique shops of Iran.
All I can say is that after spending 4+ months of my life traveling throughout the region, I can say that the Middle East is much safer and more beautiful than what the media makes it out to be!

My father's side of the family is from Syria and Jordan. My grandma moved to California about 2 years after having my dad. She was the most caring compassionate person I have ever met and did everything she could to care for and feed every person she met even though she had so little and worked as a seamstress raising 2 boys alone when her husband died from a botched brain surgery. Anyways, she has been gone 2 years now, but it warms my heart and is so comforting to hear Arabic spoken again and see people that remind me of all her friends. All your middle eastern videos are so comforting, and by far my favorite. Thank you Drew!

For all ppl saying what’s Afghanistan doing in the list : Afghanistan is part of the greater Middle East . Afghanistan is in the middle of the Asia and some of it’s provinces are even considered to be part of the Middle East ,I am from city called heart in there we all consider our self as middle eastern/ central Asians We have nothing to do with Indian subcontinent , Afghanistan being part of South Asia was a political term signed by Britain . And most ethnic groups living in Afghanistan are Iranic / Turkic even rarely Arabic .

Nahosten: near east: Saudi-Arabian, Iraq Palestine, UAE, Syria, Iran and ect... 2. Mittlere-Osten: (central asia) middle east: Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and ect. 3. For those saying Afghanistan isn’t part of the Middle East, there isn’t an actual boarder of the Middle East. Most of the middle eastern maps include Afg cuz it culture is more similar to Middle East than the Asian countries. Also Afg is pretty much in the centre of South Asia, East Asia, and Middle East so it can be considered either or. Afg used to be considered Persia which was also one of the prominent countries of the Middle East back in the day.
